Advantages: Compact and light, fast file transfer speeds

The Clix 2 brings back memories of its predecessor Clix. Being similar in terms of performance, other than it being slightly lighter and slimmer.

It has a great software included called the iRiver Plus 3, which can be used to transfer pictures or music. Alternatively, you can also use Window's explorer's drag and drop feature to transfer the files.
The menu system is well structured and designed, making it very easy to understand and get used to. The controls for this player are activated by depressing the different sides of the display screen, which is admittedly unorthodox, but it is impressive and extremely effective.

The display screen is AMOLED, which can be used to watch movies and view pictures. In addition to the bog standard features, it also boost a range of functions such as text reader, alarm clock, FM radio, voice recorder and even flash games which are suited to the player's unorthodox control methods.

When using the supplied headphones, it provides fairly average sound quality. Upon using a pair of additional headphones, there was an improvement of treble which was slightly noticeable. Its max volume is quite high, therefore it is obviously not advisable to listen at full volume for an extended period of time.

In terms of battery stamina it is only satisfactory, on average only providing 16 and a half hours of continuous audio playback and a rather short 4 hours of continuous video playback.

The file transfer speeds are quite fast, on average taking 2.7 seconds to transfer 10 megabytes of audio files. It supports both Mac and Windows operating systems. It is compatible with audio files in the OGG, WMA, Audio Book and MP3 format.

Summary: Not suitable for the heavy/frequent user
