Advantages: Reliable

Disadvantages: Not a piece of cutting edge technology

I have had this Mp3 player for about 4 years now and it is still going strong! I'm not one to take my music everywhere with me hence why I'm not part of the Ipod crew and obsessed with getting the new touch screen ones...

In all honesty I got it as a hand me down from my brother who is part of that group that think unless it is an iPod it's not worth having. I've got better things to spend my money on!

It's around 3 inches long, and about one and half wide. It has a nice weight to it, not heavy but heavy enough to feel it in your pocket. The cuboid shape is a bit of a nightmare where going to the gym as it is quite bulky but this isn't a major issue. In the summer I'm known to tuck it into the waist band of my bikinis.

It turns on and off via the play/ pause button on the front. There is a hold button to stop it turning it's self on in your bag. This is found on the top along with the volume switch and menu button.

The menu is quite hard to navigate I think but once you're used to it its' no problem.

This mp3 player features a radio but I don't bother with it as although it's easy enough to tune in I prefer to listen to my own music.

It is powered by one AAA battery. Can't be charged by your computer so best to pop in a rechargeable AAA.

Connects to your computer via a little USB clip which I'm always losing! A lead would be better I think. Once connection it's easier to just open my computers and drag and drop everything over. Transfers relatively quick too.

I find I can get around 90 - 100 songs on it, although it does vary. You can also use it as an USB drive and store photos and word documents on it. Very handy!

I find the sound quality great with the headphones it came with and goes really loud too which is a bonus in my opinion.

Overall its still a stylish piece of equipment. Yes it doesn't have all the mod cons nor a colour screen but does me great.

Is this easily obtainable in the market now? Sounds like a very old piece of gadget, how does the price compare with some better and higher capacity models? Nice read though.

Nice review, why waste money on an I-pod if you don't need those extra features? My old zen micro still does me fine!
