Advantages: Photo capabilities, user friendly, great software supplied, good sound quality

Disadvantages: Lacks a radio

Upon first glance, the Philips HDD 6320 lead anyone to assume that it was an Ipod. It has a 55 millimetre screen which is quite large, it is a transflective backlit colour display TFT display screen. This supports photos, but not videos. The quality of the screen is quite good, but it could be better and higher quality, in spite of that its perfect for viewing photos.

In terms of its built quality, it has been constructed well and sturdily, meaning the player is capable of withstanding the occasional knock or drop. Even after a few drops the player still worked fine, without any problems. To add to the player's durability, a supplied protective pouch keeps the player safely and securely.

When using the supplied headphones it provided quite a good sound, however it felt that it was leaking and that the environment sounds had distort it slightly. Upon using an additional pair of headphones, more specifically in-ear headphones, it produced slight better sound, but more importantly it solved the problem of sound escaping and environment sound.

The player is very user friendly, mainly due to the use of its touch sensitive buttons, which some users might find slightly hard to adapt to. Its file transfer speed is reasonably fast, on average taking about 1.8 seconds to upload 10 megabytes of audio files.

The software provided is relatively straightforward and easy to use, furthermore the player can also be synchronised with Windows Media Player. The player supports audio files in the WAV, WMA and MP3 format.

In addition to the typical features, the player also boost a voice recorder which can be useful. Sadly, it does not have radio capabilities. In terms of battery stamina, it provides about 16 and a half hours of continuous audio playback, this is only acceptable, since it would be expected for a player of this size to have a much better battery stamina. It takes about 4 hours to fully charge the player.

Summary: Great player for those that do not need a radio
