Advantages: User friendly, fast files transfer, good battery stamina, does not require software
Disadvantages: Start up delay
The size of the SA2820 makes it one of the most compact and lightweight player, only weighting 27 grams and 42 x 42 x 15 millimetre. However, this extremely small size comes with the compromise of not being able to play videos. Its size also makes it not possible to house a port for memory cards which could have been sued to boost the 2 GB memory that is not a huge amount of space.
In terms of battery stamina, it is quite outstanding. On average, providing 44 and a half hours of continuous audio playback. When using the supplied headphones, it provided a reasonable level of sound, however it was distorted because the headphones do not filter out background noise effectively enough, and there was an excessive amount of bass. Upon using an additional pair of headphones, there was a substantial increase in sound quality, especially with accurate and sharp highs with a consistent bass, without even increasing the volume.
The file transfer for this player is reasonably good, on average taking about 4.8 seconds to transfer 10 megabytes of audio files. The player is quite user friendly, its normal functions such as skipping a track is easy to use. Amazingly, the information about the track is quite clear and easy to read even though it is displayed on a tiny screen. A supplied manual is full of the essential information and it is easy to understand.
In addition to the bog standard features, the player also has a voice recorder. The volume can be limited which would prevent the volume exceeded the maximum level recommended, hence protecting your hearing.
Due to its compact size, it is ideal for use during sporting activities. There is a considerable start up delay which is reasonable. In terms of its constructions, it is build sturdily, meaning it is capable of withstanding the occasional drop or knock.
The player only supports Windows Vista and Windows XP.
Summary: This is a excellent all rounder, especially if you purchase an additional pair of headphones
