Philips GoGear SA2840 4 GB ... looking at the SA2840 from a distance, it is hard to be certain whether it is really an MP3 player. Due to its zen styling, with minimal buttons protruding out of the player, giving it an elegant/clean style. Being rather compact and slim, it only weights 27 grams, but still armed with 4GB of space. When using the supplied headphones, it produced a rather soft bass, that did not feel substantial enough. Upon using an additional pair of headphones with a higher output power, a more uniform bass and consistency was achieved. The player is compatible with all audio files in the DRM, WMA, M4A, WAV and MP3 file formats. In terms of file transfer speed, it is quite fast... Unfortunately, that s the only thing that is decent about it. It only weights about 41 gram, which is quite light, especially for an MP4 player. However, it comes with the compromise of having a rather small screen only measuring 2.8 x 3.5 centimetres. At this size and resolution, it is reasonable for displaying track information but not merely good enough to be used to watch videos or view pictures. Philips GoGear SA2820 2 GB ... size of the SA2820 makes it one of the most compact and lightweight player, only weighting 27 grams and 42 x 42 x 15 millimetre. However, this extremely small size comes with the compromise of not being able to play videos. Its size also makes it not possible to house a port for memory cards which could have been sued to boost the 2 GB memory that is not a huge amount of space. In terms of battery stamina, it is quite outstanding. On average, providing 44 and a half hours of continuous audio playback.
