I have never been a fan of Apple or iPods as some dooyoo users may already know from some of the comments I have made today. When I was a little younger I was extremely serious and Keene on creative MP3players, though when I uploaded a lot to them they seemed to either crash or freeze which was pretty annoying. Then when it came to my uncles 60th I decided he needed to join the rest of the world and start listening to music on the move so my family purchased this little model and I uploaded music onto it for him. I was really surprised at how much I liked interacting with it, so much so that I had to get myself one.
The product comes in a little box with a plastic see through front. It has a little protective seal on the front screen which I have to say have never removed as it keeps the screen clean and scratch free. You may be surprised to know that the product is just one large touch screen which operates even with this little plastic film.
The product comes with some very attractive looking and comfortable Samsung earphones which match the MP3player very well. It also comes with a little adapter so that you can plug it into your computer or laptop to either charge up the power or add music, podcasts, pictures or even videos. I like the design of this products adapter in that it looks very different from any other adapter I have and only fits the Samsung as it's long and flat.
It also comes with instructions tough it is very self-explanatory to anyone who has previous experience with MP3players.
Ease of use
The product pretty much self-installs and is compatible with windows media player so it is unlikely that you will have to purchase or install any other programmes which I though was extremely useful. You can put any music on your computer onto the product just by synchronising it onto the device.
Half of the player is a screen and the other half is the controls, it is fairly easy to turn on and off or even to lock as there is a little slider on the side of the machine. This is the only button which isn't activated by touch alone.
The touch buttons are pretty standard to any MP3 and are up, down, left, right, back, pause/play or select and a button which brings up a sound effect menu.
Graphics and extras
The main reason why I fell in love with this MP3 player has to be the graphics, each menu has a little snoopy like animated dancing dog on it, when music is playing the dancing dog is holding the album cover of your selected song in the left bottom corner. On the larger menus for the music the dog is singing in a backstage holding a sign saying "music", for the video menu he is wearing sunglasses and dancing on a director's chair and so on for the other menus.
When music is playing you also have the option of watching either the music levels, the dog playing an accordion and dancing or watching the dog surf. Each menu looks like a lightly graffiti wall also which I just love.
If you are solely using this MP3 player for music then the battery life is god as the screen goes off after a few minutes to save power while still playing music. Though if you were using it solely for videos then the battery runs out pretty quickly, though the video quality is excellent as I use it for both mediums. The image is very sharp and colourful.
I could not be happier with my purchase, I believe it was very good value for the amusement I get from it.
Not as good as an iPod but if you don't want to give in to the iPod craze then this is the mp3 player for you. Its ultra slim, its much faster than a lot of mp3 players i've had before and the themese are good looking and quirky. 4gb isn't a great amount of storage so if you own a large amount of music then try a larger size. The buttons are touch responsive fixed keys and sometimes can be a bit tempermental but generally work just fine. The layout is visually pleasing and simple to navigate. The sound quality is very good and there is the ability to store and watch video. The reason I rate this so highly is the speed of navigation. After going from an ipod nano to a generic mp3 player i found the navigation frustratingly slow but could not afford another iPod. So the sales assistant recomended this and i'm glad she didbecause the speed is surprisingly good.
I bought one of these mp3 players a while ago before I got my apple iPod touch.
for the price of this product I would have to say it great value for money even though I had it a while ago and don't remember the price, for £59.99 I would say go right ahead and buy it reader.
it is a very simple device with touchscreen buttons which are blue and although in some cases they can react extremely easy overall I didn't have one problem with them.
it is very easy to set up and add music to you do this via a disc you receive in the box just install it to your pc/laptop and it gives you very helpful advice on how to do the rest.
the storage capacity which mine was 4gb I found was very acceptable and it held quite alot of tracks. the only reason I purchased an iPod touch was the screen on the samsung is too small for video playback.
the earphones provided I though were very comfortable and provides just the right amount of sound.
this is a brilliant product and one that I would highly reccommend to anyone looking for a brilliant mp3 player with a small budget :).
I bought this a few years ago, it was recommended above the usual Apple Ipod - the man insisted i bought this as the apple keeps breaking he said. Anyway - I bought it, and at first it was brilliant - it was easy to download tunes and the settings were perfect. I think the only problem with this is that you can easily knock the screen onto something you don't want to use. You can rectify this by putting the lock on it but still i found it a little confusing sometimes knowing what screen to go on. I do regret not buying the apple ipod, as I bought this at £90, wish I had spent a little more to get the apple one. The actual software for this is pretty good, but i wouldn't personally buy this product again if i had too. The colours on the screen are very clear and I liked that aspect of the product.
this is a beautiful little MP3 player, it is extremely thin and has a touch screen design to the buttons which display blue when touched. it is very basic in comparison to other MP3 players available with a really simple menu sysyem. the screen is too small to watch videos on as well. the software provided to transfer data is very poor and i gave up on it quickly opting to drag and drop which worked well for a while. then it stopped letting me transfer anything unless i reformatted it and started from scratch. I contacted samsung who told me to go back to the retailer, bad customer service, so i went back to the shop they said they had had quite a few of these back so let me pick a brand new MP3 player, so i upgraded to a 80gb ipod classic which is a much better product and worth the extra money
Installing -The MP3 player comes with easy to load software. But it also comes with an instruction manual for those how have difficulty loading the software or just want a bit of guidance on how to install the software. Once installed the software allows you to transport music from your MP3 to your pc via a usb lead (which is included with the product),. The software also allows you to simple things like editing the title and playing the song.
Features- THE Mp3 player has a mass of feature . One the best is the built in radio. The radio can easily pick up most channels and using does not jump/distort while on the move. It also has a microphone which records at quilt high quality but personal I have no use for it but I am sure other people would uses it regularly. The Mp3 player can also be used as portable memory and is useful as you can uses it as a memory stick but the only difficulty I find with this is that you have to carry the lead around with you.
Overall- I think that this MP3 player is a good and very affordable MP3 player and for the feature that it has I think that it is a great product.
