I bought this as a stop gap when I lost my Cowan a while back. I havent bothered to buy another MP3 player since.
This seems to me to be the only small stick MP3 player that a company has honestly put some thought into the design. I know some people seem to have problems with the touchpad but I think it was a brilliant idea. It allows fast access to all the features and manages to pack a large number of controls onto a relatively small space, and yes you can use it to flick tracks when in your pocket, with practice (Ive had mine for over a year now.)
The integral, flick out, USB male connector means you never need a lead to connect to a PC and also prevents damage to the pins from rattling around in your pocket all day. The LCD screen is VERY bright blue, no amount of sunshine will wipe the text out with glare.
The sound quality is fine, Ive come to the opinion over the years that your headphones make far more of a difference to your listening experience anyway.
Overall Id say try the same as me. If youve lost your main MP3 player, dont buy a big expensive one straight away. Try one of these, and maybe you'll realise you dont miss all the bells and whistles on your old player.
