When looking at the Samsung YP-Z5, one can't help to notice its resemblance to a mobile phone, having the controls placed directly beneath the display screen. Its stylish metallic finish gives it an elegant and modern finish, makings its aesthetic features quite attractive.

Besides the bog standard features such as a sleep timer and a clock, it lacks radio capabilities and a voice recorder. Furthermore, there are no addition accessories supplied with the player.

When using the supplied headphones, the sound was reasonably good but not amazing. Upon using an additional pair of headphones, the sound quality was much more clear with less distortion when listening to highs, they were also more accurate. In terms of construction, this player is quite robust, meaning it is capable of withstanding the occasional knock or drop.

Its battery stamina is quite amazing, on average providing up to 35 hours of continuous audio playback from a full charge, which takes about 4 hours via the USB, this charging time is reasonable, considering its playback time. Although, it does not come with a mains cable.

The player only supports photos, whilst the display screen is suitable for the task, it is not one of the better types. The player supports all audio files in the WMA, Gapless formats and MP3 formats. Its file transfer is rather fast, on average taking 2.9 seconds to transfer 10 megabytes of audio files. A fantastic software is also included with the player.

Summary: This is a great player in all aspects, if you don't mind not having a radio.
