I purchased one of these mp3 players for only to use for a few months until the latest ipod was released. As it was only £50 I figured there was not much that could go wrong. I was pleasantly surprised when I got it home and started playing with it.
Firstly being Samsung it was very good quality and reliable. I have never had a Samsung that has failed me. The player it fairly simple. Its predominant feature is a mp3 player even though its classified as a media player. The sound quality is decent but the head phoned provided with the player are not amazing and I replaced them straight away. The player has a couple games and the ability to display photos which is a nice added feature. The screen is decent and is colour. You are able to change backgrounds to your choice and can have album covers displayed. The quality of the screen is mediocre and can be slightly fuzzy but not too bad.
The main controls are good and responsive. Some of the buttons are touch sensitive so you don't need to press them in fully. The square controls are actual buttons and easy to access and use.
The battery life is great and lasts for the best part of a day if on constant use. However this varies depending how much you use it.
The player is a perfect size, nice and thin but not too small.
I use windows media player to transfer music and it's the simplest system to use in my opinion, however it comes with some other software which you can use.
I defiantly recommend this mp3 player, especially because of the price, its simple and easy to use and perfect for anyone who wants a basic music player.
I had the silver version of this MP3 player.
The design of this product is perfect for people on the go - it is light and slimline, and very compact. You can store 2GB of songs on it, as well as photos and other pictures.
The colour screen is very clear and attractive, and there are already some pictures on the player, such as a photo of a blue sky and some flowers, and you can set these as backgrounds to the menus.
There is a touchpad in the middle of a square of the 4 buttons, and this allows you to scroll down your playlists easily. Playlists can be arranged alphabetically by song name, album or artist name, or you can 'shuffle' all your songs so you can listen to a variety without needing to search through all the songs.
You can also 'lock' the keypad, so that it can go into your bag/pocket and buttons won't be pressed by accident.
I had this MP3 for about 2 years before getting an iPod, but this is cheaper than the iPod (about £50) and does the same job (just based on storing and playing music).
You can charge it up by a USB cable plugged into your computer or you can buy a plug ot go into a wall plug socket with a USB connector. After charging for about 3 hours, the battery can last several days - the battery life is great!
I would recommend this to everyone, as it is a high quality product with great sound and display!
I picked myself up one of these about 6 months ago for about £50, and have never looked back since - I have had no trouble with it whatsoever
I have the black version, with silver trim, that can hold a total of 2 GB's worth of songs (not bad at all when you consider it only costs about £50). Before this purchase, the mp3 players I bought were always battery run, but this player requires no such thing, and once the battery life has diminished, you can just charge it right back up again!
It is really durable (I have dropped it a couple of times but it still works completely fine), and it can also store and display pictures to a high quality. However, my favourite feature of this mp3 player is that you can create an 'on the go' playlist. If your listening to a song and want to add it to your 'on the go' playlist, one click of a button will do this for you - as simple as that.
The sound quality is also above average, and the settings tab allows you to change the equaliser settings to exactly what you desire.
Overall, I would recommend this product to all those people who don't want to splash out on an ipod!
The Samsung YP-Z5 is a beautifully made machine. The easy use menu makes flicking through you music easy. Having a colour screen makes it possible to flick though you favorite picture while listening to your music. But the best thing about this Mp3 player is that it has an amazing 35 hours batteries life even thought it has a colour screen!!!!
The Aluminum rim helps to make the Mp3 player very strong and durable. Even thought the volume control does stick out a little bit I've never had any problem with it getting damaged.
The mp3 player can support can support five different formats which are MP3, WMA, WMA DRM10, and JPEG which is good for something that cost 35 pound and has a colour screen.
Overall this is a great Mp3 player and is great for people on the move and its massive batteries life makes this a great Mp3 player. And although it is great for people on the move its still stylish enough to show off to your mates.
The samsung yepp, is a very sturdy and well built mp3 player, the menu system is easy to use, even though many people seem to find the controls difficult to use. I have found that transfering songs using media player or Realplayer to be extremely easy.
I have no complaints about the quality of the headphones, they are much better than the ones supplied with other mp3 players, and there is no need to buy better ones.
I find that the samsung yepp sounds a lot better than ipod nanos, and the nano now sounds weak in comparaison.
Battery life is important to me, as I frequently go traveling and as power outlets are often not available it is imperative I have an mp3 player with a long battery life. This mp3 player has a very long battery life! After 10 hours of use I find that it is still on full bar battery.
The screen is a lot better than that of a nano's, although the pictures are very pixelated when shrunk, its MP3 player not a photo album so I can deal with it.
9/10 - Highly Recommened: Cheap mp3 player, fantastic screen, long battery life and stylish.
