Advantages: User friendly, reasonable audio quality,

Disadvantages: Does not support videos, lacks radio

The Sansa C140 does look rather promising with its eye catching aesthetic features and its modern colour scheme. The compact player only weighting 45 grams is quite slim, making it easy to carry in your pocket. Its size and weight makes it an ideal payer to be used during sporting activities, especially running weight space and weight is a luxury.

When using the supplied headphones, the sound is only reasonable, providing a good balance between treble and bass. Upon using an additional pair of headphones, it provided a better signal to noise ratio, with less distortion in some high tunes. The max volume is limited, therefore the maximum volume is at a level which is safe to be used for long periods of time.

There is not built in rechargeable battery, instead it uses one single AAA battery, that can provide up to 15 hours of continuous audio playback. T would vary between brands, models, and the type of battery. In a way, using these standard batteries which can be purchased at almost any store is quite convenient, due to the fact that it is possible to simply buy new batteries instead of having to charge them regularly.

A neck strap for the player is also supplied which can be used to conveniently store the player whilst on the move. The player is also constructed well and sturdily, which means it i capable of withstanding the occasional knock or drop.

The player supports only supports photos, however the size of the screen does make the end result quite disappointing to a certain degree. It also has extra features such as a voice recorder and even a sleep timer which can be useful.

The player is compatible with audio files in the WMA, WAV, Audible book files and MP3 file formats. Its file transfer speed is quite fast, on average taking 3 seconds to transfer 10 megabytes of audio files.

Summary: It is quite a decent player overall, particularly for sporting activities
