      Advantages

      Disadvantages

Average but with excellent battery life.

I bought the white version of the bean a few years ago.
I loved the design as it has a unique funky shape different to conventional MP3 players, and was also compact and fits well in your hand. Also having a USB built in that pops out was useful as you don't need an extra cable.
The software used is average, and I did not use it as my music player on my computer. It does not support all audio formats.

It has good music quality and the music never skips.
Another advantage of this MP3 player is that 3 minutes charging gives 3 hours playback, so if you're in a hurry it takes minimal time to charge. It also has a very long battery life. (50 hours).

However after a few months the main control button fell off, and eventually the screen stopped working. I still used it as the music player still worked however it eventually completely broke.

Overall it is an average MP3 player but with a great unusual design. It isn't very durable and is flimsy but is a good enough MP3 player for the price.

      nice but not amazing.

The bean is so cute, mine is pink and i love it. I use it when im running as it just slips into my pocket, stick it on shuffel and off i go. It is really just a basic MP3 player, there aren't any special functions that i know about but it is still nice and simple to use. The disply however is quite small and when its scrolling the song title it doesn't always get to the end before going onto the screensaver which can be annoying. the lock on it is also quite weak so i often find it playing in the bottom of my bag so when i need to use it the battery is dead. Its very easy to hook up to the computer as the usb is integrated so there are no complicated wires and the sony programme is simple to use. I've had no reliability problems with it and 2 years on its still going strong.

Overalll its cute and easy to use but the display is smwll and there isn't anythng much unique about it. Also it doesn't have a radio which i miss so now tend to jsut listen to my phone instead.

      Worth the money

I received this Sony Bean in pink for Christmas four years ago and absolutely loved it. It's tiny enough to fit absolutely anywhere, pocket or bag, and is really durable I've dropped it and bashed it many many times and it's never faltered once.

The battery life is fantastic, I use it for maybe 3 hours a day some days and have to charge it once every few weeks. The menu is reasonably easy to navigate - once you have learnt how! The hide away USB connector is great and the extension cable that comes with the player was a must-have as it wouldn't have connected to my PC otherwise.

The memory is a good size for a small player, and the sound quality also is really good.

My only real complaint with it is that you can't get the accessories for it that some people (myself included) would like! Things like arm bands to hold it when at the gym and docking stations aren't designed for this, but as a stand alone mp3 player it's well worth it.

An amazing MP3 player, worth buying!

I got this Sony Bean 2 years ago for my birthday, and have loved it ever since :)
The battery is AMAZING! I charge it up probably once a month, if that, and I use it for at least an hour everyday.
The sound quality is great, and doesn't jog or jump when I take it running with me :)
It's also very durable, as I have dropped it down the stairs so many times, and it still works perfectly. I also dropped it in the sink once while i was cleaning my teeth, and it got covered in water, and it STILL works amazingly well!
The menu is really easy to navigate, as you can easily change or select a song or album, but pressing the button with a picture of a folder on. You can also repeat songs, albums, and shuffle the songs.
It also has a clock on, an alarm, and you can change the picture that comes up just after you've selected the song/album :)
The one thing that slightly annoys me, is the flashing note that comes up when something is playing on it, I listen to it at night too, so the flashing light is really annoying then, however, it is very useful to easily see if you have accidentally left it playing or something.
It also has a "hold" cover, that slides across so that you don't accidentally press anything.
The USB is hidden inside the bean, and is easy to get out and attach to your computer.
This is the one thing I couldn't live without! I love it!!

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

Its sound quality makes it totaly worth it

This is the mp3 player that I currently own.

The Sony Bean has an amazing battery life. It has a super saving energy mode in which one second of charging is equal to one minute of listening to music.
It's quit easy to toggle through it's menu and it has a great, loud and clear sound. You can change its bass level and it has a recommended loudness level that you can activate to not damage your ear drums.
The headphones that it comes with are simply amazing, showing exactly the quality of sony products.

It's quite small, so it's easy to carry around. If all you need an mp3 player for is listening to music, then you don't need one with a screen on it, who will make your mp3 player bigger and heavier. (By the way how can anyone watch a movie on those things?)

Like any device it also has its negatives.

It's quite fragile if you ask me.
The port you plug the USB wire on to transfer music from your PC to the Bean is even more fragile. So if your planning to buy one, take care of it.
Also sony's software for transferring music it's very slow and faces a few problems during installation. I don't know if there is a new update to them but i hope one comes soon.

As a tip because I've already experienced this, if you are going to reformat it, do it through the mp3 player itself and not through windows. That will make the mp3 player not work properly, of course it doesn't brake or anything. Just reformat through the option in the mp3 players menu for formating.

          Advantages

          Disadvantages

Fantastic for music on the go

I was given this Sony NW–E207 Mp3 Player in Pink, as a gift for my birthday and have used it constantly for the past year and a half, although I am sadly, experiencing some difficulties with it now (more about this later). Using my Mp3 Player is a great way to cheer myself up in the morning on those damp, rainy days heading to work! Listening to all my favourite songs is better than listening to the humble of traffic and noisy commuter’s everyday!

So what is the Sony NW–E207 Mp3 Player?

The Sony NW-E205 Mp3 Player is a small electronic device which allows you to listen to music you have downloaded on to its internal software, through earphones.

          REQUIREMENTS:

A compatible PC with a USB connection
          Earphones (provided with purchase)

          How does it work?

It is simple. First of all, you need to install the software provided, Sonic Stage Music Management Software, on CD to your computer. Once this is complete, save songs from your favourite CD’s into a folder on your computer. Then, using the software provided you’ve installed onto your PC, select the songs you wish to install on your Mp3 Player. Then, pop the USB connection out of the bean by sliding the shutter down, and connect this into the USB port on your computer. Follow the instructions on your computer and *darraaa*, you have music on your little Mp3 Player. It is as easy as that! This may sound complicated, but honestly, it isn’t. You are provided with an instruction manual to help you along the way, as well as guidance in the programme you have just installed on your computer. The Mp3 is also charged when you connect it to a USB port and does not require batteries – cost saving and ease at hand.

So… Exactly what functions were included in my Mp3 player … ?

Not only can I play my favourite songs, I can also listen to my local & national radio station at the flick of a button. There is also a time & date function, as well as showing your battery life. The super quick battery charge allows you 3 hours of playback time, after charging for as little as 3 minutes, which is perfect if you are a busy person who is often on the go. If you’re battery runs out whilst you are at work… why not pop it into your USB port and have it charged before going home? Perfect!

          *** DESIGN ***

As with all products, the design is a major factor. I think the bean shaped Mp3 player is great because it is different and looks adorable! The bean is available in several colours such as Pink, Black and White, so there is something to suit everybody. The design is suited for left and right hand users as well. It really is versatile.

          *** DISPLAY ***

You can save all your songs separately or in to individual folders by Artist etc. Whilst your song is playing, you can view information about the music such as the length of track, song title, album title or Artist’s name.

          *** BATTERY ***
If you charge your Mp3 player for 3 minutes, you get up to 3 hours of playback time. However, if you charge your Mp3 player for longer (see instruction booklet), you get up to 50 hours play back time…. Equivalent to over 2 days!

          *** MEMORY ***

This Mp3 player has 1GB memory which will hold roughly 695 of your favourite songs, depending on the length etc. Although, the same Mp3 player is available with smaller memory (512MB).

          Skip Proof Design…

The Mp3 player has a skip proof function, so even if you are doing vigorous exercise on a treadmill, you can still listen to your favourite songs, without the hassle and nuisance of your song jumping / cutting off.

          *** PRICE ***

The price varies depending on where you buy your Mp3 player from. This one costs roughly £70.00. You can purchase your Mp3 player with Sony’s online shop and selected retail shops.

          *** ACCESSORIES ***

Audio Connecting Cable – Connect your Mp3 player to an amplifier

Hear Sports – Specially designed ear phones to use whilst taking part in sport activities

          * My Opinion *

I love this Mp3 player because of its great design. It is fun and the pink makes it nice and girly, which I am. The fact you can charge your Mp3 player as little as 3 minutes is perfect for me as I am quite often on the go. Not only that, but the battery has a very long life time and you don’t need the extra cost and hassle of replacing batteries. It is easy to download music and take it off again if needed on to my Mp3 player, so I’ll never get bored of the same songs and can update it with the latest hits. There is an instruction booklet provided as well so you should never get stuck using your Mp3 player.

The only downside for me is the fact that there is a slide shaft to put your Mp3 player on hold and to pop your USB connector out. Sometimes, this can slide open itself which can become a pain! All in all – a great purchase!

            Advantages

            Disadvantages

Quality of sound, design and size - playback time

I purchased this MP3 Player from ebay for £40, the buy now price was £49.99, but you can make the seller an offer, which he excepted £40. Software was also suuplied with this product and comes with step by step installation instructions.
The only thing is the MP3 Player did not come with sony walkman earphones, the earphones supplied were bottom range earphones which were a little on the large size and awkward to stay in your ears. Apart from that I thought this was a very reasonable price for the product, The mp3 player itself is great, the size is fantastic and the design is great to, it looks really good and stylish although maybe a little bit girly.
I found the battery life was really good, you can get 3 hours payback from just 3 mins charging. I recently took the MP3 player on holiday, I fully charged it before I left and the battery lasted the whole of the weeks holiday, and I was in fact using it every day. It stores up to 695 songs, and the MP3 player contains folders for albums and songs so it is easy to search for a certain track/album. It also includes other functions such as random mix/ shuffle and has different display screens e.g: date and time/track artist/or beat patterns!!
It has a built in USB connection which is very compatable and no extra wires!!
I found this MP3 player easy to use once I found my way around the controls, although the buttons are very close together and may not be suitable for someone with larger fingers, there is a slide on the side of the MP3 player which activates the hold function, be sure to move this to the play setting before trying to use the MP3 player as this drove me mad for a while as it kept saying hold and I could not play any tracks!! After I worked that out I found it easy to use and found it easy to seach for any track/album i wanted.
The quality of sound was really good, but I think could be better with the correct headphones.

All in all I think the product is great for the price of £40.00 but don't think it is worth the retail price of £100
