Is it a kidney bean, is it a beeper, no its the Sony NW-E207. A rather oddly shaped player which is unique and does make a fashion statement. The uncommon shape, means that additional features would be hard to implement. The shape of the player does help in making it easier to hold the player to a certain extent, because the bean shape is quite ergonomic in relation to the hand.
The tiny display screen is only capable of displaying basic track information in the form of text. It does not support the viewing of videos nor photos.
Its battery stamina is impressive, on average providing up to 52 hours of continuous audio playback. It takes about 1 and a half hours to fully charge the player. The player also allows you to use its quick charge functions which basically involves charging the player for a short period of time of bout 3 minutes which would be about 90 minutes of continuous audio playback. When using the supplied headphones, the sound quality is acceptable, upon using an additional pair of headphones, there was a huge improvement in the quality of sound especially with more rich treble that is clear and less distorted.
The player supports audio files in the Atrac 3 and MP3 file format, which needs to be transferred using the supplied software, that is quite easy to understand and use. The file transfer speed could be faster, on average taking about 1.6 seconds to transfer 10 megabytes of audio files.
