Advantages: Amazing battery life; excellent software & support; compact; mid-track resume; clear display

Disadvantages: Danger of losing USB cap; display invisible in bright outdoor light

I had a bad experience with a cheap own-brand player that had problems connecting to my PC, had no online support, and used a Duracell AAA every two hours.
By comparison, the Sony is amazing. The internal battery seems to run endlessly. Just by regularly adding files using the superb SonicStage system, the battery is charged without thinking about it. Listening to audio books is ideal. The player will resume mid-track, exactly like the old tape Walkman. Switch off, and pick it up again just where you left off. My cheap player always reverted to the start of the track.
What I like:
Battery life – charge on any PC with USB
Compact, but easy to control
Mid-track resume
Excellent software
Excellent online support
Bright display
Great sound quality, even with highly compressed files
More than enough volume
Host of functions contolling play modes, timers, searches etc.
Hooks up to the aux. input of my stereo amp (lead required) with excellent results
Minor problems:
Nowhere to store the USB cap when connected to PC. I would hate to lose it
The display, which will light up a dark room, becomes totally invisible outside in bright sunshine

Summary: Superb. Is giving great enjoyment
