Advantages: Price, features, no Itunes :D
Disadvantages: No neck strap
Whilst walking through a sony style shop in Germany, I remember being astounded by the fact that they were selling a Sony 2gb mp3 player for 30euros!
It was soon nestled in my suitcase, as a potential replacement for my ageing 1st generation ipod shuffle.
Aesthetically there is no comparison - whilst the shuffle had Apple's characteristic white elegance, the sony just looked so much nicer with its glossy black finish, couple with a satisfying sound when the USB cap is placed back on the player.
The fact that it can double up as a USB dongle is fantastic, and with an OLED screen, it represents fantastic value for money.
In terms of features, unlike the ipod shuffle it has its own screen, equalizer, graphics, even a sports timer, and the headphones are marginally better than the Apple provided headphones.
However, my main reason for having an mp3 player is for listening to music in the gym, and the lack of a provided neck strap, and the flimsy connection place for an optional strap, was something I didn't find particularly impressive - I soon simply replaced the USB cab, with the Shuffle's cap with built in strap.
Overall, a fantastic player, with only one slight moan on my part, and brilliant value.
Summary: Great value for money mp3 player
