Whilst walking through a sony style shop in Germany, I remember being astounded by the fact that they were selling a Sony 2gb mp3 player for 30euros! It was soon nestled in my suitcase, as a potential replacement for my ageing 1st generation ipod shuffle. Aesthetically there is no comparison - whilst the shuffle had Apple's ... I purchased the sony NW-E005 to replace an ipod nano which finally gave up the ghost after being drowned countless times. On first impressions, whilst it may not have the ipod's looks the sony appears well built with its glossy body and liquid crystal display, it is also tiny being only just bigger than the average USB pen ... I had a bad experience with a cheap own-brand player that had problems connecting to my PC, had no online support, and used a Duracell AAA every two hours. By comparison, the Sony is amazing. The internal battery seems to run endlessly. Just by regularly adding files using the superb SonicStage system, the battery is charged without thinking ... Read the complete review

This is an excellent MP 3 player, and I think that it is a much needed, serious compteitor to Apple's Ipod. It looks stylish, and comes in different colours (black, blue and pink!). The screen is pretty small, only offering one line of information at a time, but looks quite funky, as it has a bright blue text LED display. ... Read the complete review
