Advantages: Huge internal memory
Disadvantages: No colour screen
This is another great Sony MP3 player which can hold 20GB of music files. When the music files are converted into Sony's attrac form, it means that this MP3 player can hold up to 22.500 music tracks, no that is a lot of music.
The player itself seems like a bit of a brick but it in not that heavy. The basic shape of the player lets it fit into your pocket easily so you can carry it around without requiring huge pockets. The overall design of this MP3 is quite attractive and modern. I extremely like what they did with the buttons to get the design.
The screen is in black and white but it is clearly laid out with track listing, artist name and album clearly visible. The NW-HD5H does not require a dock to connect to the computer but again similar to other Sony audio products, it does require the user to use Sonicstage software to convert your MP3 files to attracc form before it can transfer it to the NW-HD5H. Again similar it takes roughly 25 seconds to upload a single track.
The sound quality is great and the supplied Sony headphones are good, but you can purchase better headphones if you are willing to fork out extra. The built in battery is very good. It can play non-stop music for almost 24 hours before you need to recharge it useing the supplied mains cable.
Overall this is a great MP3 with a huge memory capacity. It was great when it was first released but maybe not so much in todays word. It does not have a colour screen so no picture viewer and no video playback and certainly no WiFi connectivity to access your facebook.:(
