Advantages: stopwatch, clock, calorie and distance counter, stylish, good quality sounds

Disadvantages: stores only 125 mp3 files unless compressed, expensive

This should be crowned as one of the most useful mp3 players invented so far. The Sony sports s202 is mainly designed for those who love sports and has all that you could need to start exercising. The mp3 player comes in three colours, pink, black and silver. The mp3 player has a one line display and sometime two line display when you are playing music. The mp3 player has four buttons and a navigation key that slides both sides (for scrolling up or down). The mp3 player is very slim and rather small, so small that I can almost fit it all in my hand and it only weighs 26g.
The sounds quality is amazing, the headphones that are provided with the mp3 player definitely add to the quality. The mp3 player is very easy to use once you get the hang of how every button works, Navigation around the mp3 player is also easy. You can personalise the mp3 player by going to the settings via the menu.
If you are one of those people who can't be bothered to listen to songs after songs you can change the mp3 player to shuffle mode and all you have to do is shake the mp3 player three times and it will automatically shuffle the songs for you.

The Sony s202 has 512MB this means it cal only keep between 100 - 350 tracks of music. It does depend on how long the song is and the format of the song e.g. mp3 music takes more space than WMA music. Personally for me this is not enough but because this is meant to be a sports mp3 player it means you only need enough songs to listen to during your work out and as for me when I exercise I never exercise for more than an hour in a row so the songs never get to repeat.
Transferring music to the Sony s202 is rather tricky. At first I thought I just had to drag and drop my music like many other mp3 players, but little did I know that I had to download sonic stage which would allow me to transfer music from my PC to the mp3 player and vice versa.
Sonic stage can be downloaded from the Sony website or just upload the software that comes with the mp3 player. Sonic stage does not really take up a lot of space in you computer like iTunes, it will however take a while to get used to sonic stage, if you want it all to be easy for you I recommend you read the manual.

The main thing I like about this mp3 player is that it counts the steps you take everyday and also calculates how many calories you have lost. You can also set a target of how many calories you want to lose e.g. if you want to lose 500 calories in one day just input 500 and chose the music you want it to play. After you have set everything, all you have to do is start working out and when you music stops it means you have lost the calories.
If you want to start from fresh you can easily reset the mp3 player so that it starts counting again from zero.
If you are one of those people who like cycling or running in the rain well don't worry bout the mp3 player getting soaked as it is water resistant and so are the headphones.
The mp3 also has player has a stopwatch, distance counter, and a clock. The mp3 player does not really switch off; it is always on standby as it needs to keep the clock going.
You should however make sure that the mp3 player is on 'hold' so that the music does not play, thus saving your battery.

The mp3 player comes nicely packed in a small box which will include software CD, USB cable, Sony s202 mp3 player, armband and a set of headphones. The mp3 player is rechargeable and can be charge either by a mains charger which you have to buy separately or via the USB. The battery life on the mp3 player is impressive it lasts for a very long time (more than 15hours). If you charge the mp3 player for about 5minutes it will last for at least an hour which is really helpful for times when I am in a hurry.

It is said to say but this mp3 player has now been discontinued therefore it is rather hard to find. Shops such as Argos still sell the mp3 player and you may also find it on eBay or Amazon. I got mine from Currys ages ago and it still looks brand new, possibly because I have not used it that much and I did lose it for a while not knowing were it was.
Unfortunately this mp3 player does not play videos or pictures. Moreover, you can only store nothing other than movies as it won't allow you to save other files such as word, pictures, videos etc.

I definitely would recommend this mp3 player to all those sportive people and those who also like good quality sound. However, to use the mp3 player you would need windows 98 and above so that you can upload sonic stage.
Transferring the songs does not take long and if you want to store a lot of tracks you can use the Sony atrac compression which is provided to compress you music files. The armband that comes with the mp3 player is comfortable and easy to fit. This mp3 player definitely makes you lose weight in style and makes it all fun.

==Note==

---This Sony s202 mp3 player is now rare but the price ranges between, £30 - £60 depending were you buy it.

--- The mp3 player charges quickly so you won't have to worry about charging it over night as five minutes of charging will give you hours of music. To get a full battery life of 18hours you will need to charge the mp3 player for 45mins.

---The mp3 player is compatible with MP3, WMA, ATRAC and AAC music format and if you don't have any tracks you can always listen to the FM radio.

---Comes in three colours pink, black and silver.

Summary: a sony mp3 player for those who want to lose weight,. or simply listen to music on the go.

I suspect it's been discontinued because of the pace of technological advance, in terms of storage capacity if nothing else.
