The Sony Walkman A3000 impresses as soon as you unwrap it, without doubt one of the most stylish players about. However, the functionality of this players really lets it down, and leaves it sadly lacking compared to similar products from competitors.

The sound quality if fine, but it's just far too quiet, it is not possible to crank the sound up to a suitable level for when using in situations where there is a lot of background noise.

The software provided with it 'connect' is almost not useable as it is painfully slow and frequently freezes or crashes. You can use 'sonicstage' software instead, but this means that you lose some of the functions of the player.

Overall, I would give this player top marks for capacity and style. However, for me, it does not provide good value for money, or ease of use compared to other MP3 players I have used.
