Advantages: Good battery stamina, user friendly, good sound quality
Disadvantages: Tiny display screen is not ideal for watching videos for long periods of time
The Sony NWZ-A815 is a player that focus on simplicity and style, where less is more. The slim and compact player is quite well designed, with its matt black finish that bring a sense of elegance and style.
When using the supplied headphones, the sound quality was quite good, with a good level of bass. Upon using an additional pair of headphones, there was little improvement in sound quality overall, mainly due to the fact that the supplied headphones is already quite good. However, the length of the supplied headphone is rather short which could make it uncomfortable.
Its battery stamina is impressive, on average providing up to 45 hours of continuous audio playback and about 8 hours of continuous video playback. It takes around 120 minutes to fully charge the player, which is no doubt good, considering the length of its playback.
The display screen is clear and shows both photos and videos in high quality, however it is stil not perfect for watching videos for long periods of time.
Its file transfer speed is not amazingly fast, but it is still decent. The menu structure is well designed and laid out, which makes it easy to navigate around and use all of the player's features to the fullest. The player has a good quick start guide and instruction manual included, which makes it easy to familiarize yourself and set up the player initially. The player supports all audio files in the ACC, MP3 and WAV file formats.
Summary: This player is good as a whole, perfect for users that want to use it primarily for audio playback
