Sony Walkman NWZ-A818 8 GB

This little mp3 player really is proof that sony know what there doin when it comes to portable music i mean after all they've been doing it for over 30 years. i've had this mp3 player for about 6 months nowand every time i've seen a new mp3 player and though about buying (including the new x-series) i then think why? why do i need a new one when this is small can hold all of my favourite music and transfering is a brezze. It took me a while to get my act together and buy an MP3 player, and invested in this Walkman a little over a year ago. It is the first (and only) MP3 player I have bought, and my main reason for choosing this one was the drag and drop functionality, which works very well. You simply drag whatever music you want into the relevant folder when the Mp3 player is connected to your laptop. I found the idea of this preferable to be locked into Apple's proprietary software/music system that accompanies the iPod. Son y have really excelled themselves with the Sony NWZ it could be a big contender to the ipod. The sony is packed full of features which are easily navigated through on a simple menu, you can easily search through all of your favourite artists or albums, you can even just put shuffle on which randomly plays through your entire track list whcih is one of the key things that i love in a MP3 player. The Sony also has another groovy little feature called a time machine shuffle where it will randomly select a year and will pay through all of your songs from that year which adds a little entertainment. I bought this tiny player for my girlfriend when it was going for £75 at the time. What an amazing bargain that was. With a full host of features such as video, music, pictures and a massive 8GB of space this player has nearly everything. The player itself is tiny in size, about half the thickness of my mobile and smaller in both length and width. Great for using in the gym or anywhere for that matter. The sound quality is excellent and probably better than that of an iPod (although perhaps not as good as iRiver players). I went travelling around a year ago and needed some way of playing my music when I was away, my brother and almost everybody I knew had ipods, but I wasnt convinced by their tie-in to itunes so started looking elsewhere for an alternative.
