Son y have really excelled themselves with the Sony NWZ it could be a big contender to the ipod.

The sony is packed full of features which are easily navigated through on a simple menu, you can easily search through all of your favourite artists or albums, you can even just put shuffle on which randomly plays through your entire track list whcih is one of the key things that i love in a MP3 player. The Sony also has another groovy little feature called a time machine shuffle where it will randomly select a year and will pay through all of your songs from that year which adds a little entertainment.

It doesn't only play music
The Sony is also capable of storing and showing any of your pictures as a slide show or you can pick not only that but you can upload videos and movies onto the walkman to watch on the go. This is extreamly useful when you have alot of waiting around to do and need some simple entertainment with out needing to carry any other electronic equipment which takes up valuable space. The Sony also comes packed full with 8Gb of space so you will be pushed to fill that with allt he music that you actually listen to.

The sound quality on the Sony walkman is excetional especial with the in ear headphones that come supplied with it which is a great bonus that you don't get with the ipod. The walkman has a very crisp sound with good base the headphones also help to block out any other sounds which is great. The only annoying thing that i hae found is that i have lost one of the rubber ear plugs so cannot use those headphones very easily without getting some new ones.

The buttons on the Sony are well laid out and very simple to navigate there are many different options on the Walkman that alow you to change just about everything about the way your music sounds so that it's just right for you.

To finish off i believe that this is a really well made MP4 player that could easily condend with the lkes of the ipod nano. Whether you are just looking for something new or need a change and don't to break the bank i would strongly recommend The Sony Walkman NWZ-A818.
