charge gives three hours playback, and you get about 24 hours use from the full battery. There are two major downsides; firstly you have to use and install Sony s proprietary software, soundstage, and convert everything to the proprietary format before you can upload it. This is so time consuming and laborious that I have only bothered changing the music on it once or twice. The player will convert any other format, but it all has to be processed by soundstage first.
