Advantages: Great for the price, very durable, sound is good, superb battery life

Disadvantages: can get scratched easily,

This Sony Walkman was the first mp3/mp4/media player that I owned. A few years ago, I wanted a media player that could hold a bunch of my songs and was affordable too. I first thought of getting an iPod but that was too expensive at the time, so I tried looking for another option. That's when I found this Sony Walkman. I bought is since it was cheaper than an iPod and I quickly fell in love with it.

This little thing is made up of plastic and it is very durable. I can't count the number of times that this has fallen out of my hand or when I am working out and every time I think it's going to be broken, it somehow still works like new. One thing though, is that it does get scratched pretty easily, especially the back but I personally don't mind that.

It has a lot of features such as video playback, radio, viewing pictures, and of course music playback. If you want to view a video on this, then you have to make sure that you have the right file type and that it is compatible with the walkman. Watching videos on the walkman is not particularly enjoyable as the screen is pretty small (2 inches) and the quality is just decent. You can also put pictures in the walkman and view them on it. When viewing pictures you can go through them using the cursor or you can view them in a slide show.

Another feature that I like is the fm radio. The walkman scans through radio stations well and you scan through radio stations and then save them for your convenience. Unfortunately there is no support for AM radio.

The feature that I use the most is obviously the music playback. You can store up to 8 GB worth of songs which would equal around 2000 songs, which is more than enough for me. Storing songs on the walkman is very easy. All you have to do is attach the USB to the walkman and your computer, and then copy the song(s) that you want and paste or drag them to the music folder. Alternatively you can use Sony's content transfer software that comes with it; I personally do not use it as it isn't really convenient for me.

The headphones that come with it are decent and should last you months. One thing to note about the headphones is that they can start hurting your ears a bit after a while. The sound quality is good and I haven't ever experienced any problem whatsoever in that regard.

It is very easy to use the walkman as everything about it is very simple. You move around with the cursor buttons and anything you want to use is displayed on the screen. There are also back and option buttons for more ease.

The battery life is simply incredible. I have used the walkman for huge amounts of time without charging it. You can easily get 20 plus hours without charging it. It is great for long rides and long flights. You can charge the walkman by plugging it in to an usb compatible device such as a computer or game console or you could plug it into one of those usb wall chargers.

Overall, this media player is awesome. It is very durable, it has a lot of features, the sound quality is great, it is great for the price and the battery life is terrific. I bought this a few years ago and I still use it and still love it.

Summary: A great media player for the price
