Advantages: Sleek. lightweight and thin

Sony has made much of the fact that this is the thinnest WalkMan ever and indeed it feels very light in the pocket, almost unnoticeable.
The S639F has a solid sturdy aluminium feel about it and its usb port and headphone socket sit in the same place at the bottom of the unit.
The S639F can be worked extremely easy with just the one hand and the mainly list-based browsing options , with album cover thumb nails, make it a breeze to track down the audio or video track that you are searching for.
However, the small 2 inch screen is not really ideal for viewing videos of any description. The screen shares the front with the controls, with a circular D-Pad, and two further buttons namely back and option.The side of the phone sports the volume and hold buttons.
The main menu is laid out in a grid-like formation allowing access to all the players features, SenseMe, FM Radio, pictures, music, video, settings, podcast, now playing and intelligent shuffle.
SenseMe is a feature that arranges your music automatically into different mode compilations determined by the beat in the track which is very thoughtful and time saving.
Video play back is smooth and crisp but due to the small size of the screen can quickly become tiresome if viewed for more than a few minutes.
With so many features you might worry that the focus wouldn't be on the audio quality,however, this is something the S639F has no worries about.
