This little MP4 player not only looks the part but plays the part very well. I know most of you will already know the features of an MP4 player but for the people that don't ill make it simple for them, it plays not only music files but video files too. So if you fancy some off your kick ass tunes no problem or if you fancy watching one of your favourite TV shows or films on the move well guess what? You can! Simple!

OK lets get down to business, just for the record my opinion on this little gadget is it's great its small enough not be a pain carrying around and its not too small to ruin the whole video watching experience. The sound is great and so is the screen quality.


---Quick Overview---

The Sumvision Sempra Pro looks amazing! It comes in either white or black and looks far from dull to say it only comes with shade colours. The back of the MP4 player is a type of smooth shiny metal (yes that was the best i could do :D) very much like the one on the back of an ipod. So yes it will scratch and yes you can engrave your name into it if you so desire.
The Display itself is a high 2" 256,000 colour TFT display and gives great viewing pleasure. You may feel 2" is quite small and yes at times i myself was like hmmm... no way am i going to enjoy a film on this! Oh how wrong i was the display is excellent quality and after a while you forget your actually watching a film on such a small screen.

The screen is positioned on the left side while the button controls are located to the right. On the bottom of the MP4 player is the standard 3.5mm head phone jack and also an expansion memory slot. Yes that's right not only do you get a decent 4GB flash drive on this but an mini SD card slot that supports up to 4GB of mini SD card memory.

---Features---

The Sumvision Sempra Pro has many features the more obvious ones are music play back and video play back. Also this MP4 player comes with a small microphone to record sounds etc. Its not the greatest of recording hardware but it does the trick nicely if you need to make a quick reminder of something when you don't have a pen or paper then it works just fine.

Another feature is the radio tuner giving that most of you probably still listen to the radio from time to time this feature gives you even more listening pleasure.

Moving back to the music section it is possible to make small document files that play the lyrics to the song across the screen when listening to them, i cant really say how well this works as I've not really been too bothered about this feature but its nice to now its there for you karaoke lovers out there.


---Display---

As mentioned earlier the screen quality of this MP4 player is amazing and the 256,000 colour display makes watching videos highly enjoyable. The screen its self is only 2" but yet even at this small size navigating through music and watching videos is more than adequate.

Now onto Menus at the Main Menu of the Device is all the options such as play Music files, Video files, Radio etc. The only problem i tend to see here is the fact some people may not like the cartoon effect of it as the images and text are very children like, good job you don't look at the menu all the time then :P. Once into the menu of your choice the selection screen appears and is easy enough to navigate through and the cartoon menus disappear and a more "sophisticated" selection menu takes its place.

I will mention that getting used to the controls on this device may take a while to get used to and because of the limited space and obviously limited buttons due to this fact there is somewhat of a hold and navigate process. What i mean by that is as usual the direction and play button lets you select the file you want and simple play it, pausing is simple one click press as is replaying but when it comes to navigating back to previous file or menu you have to hold down a button and sometimes (OK a few times) you forget and tend to be guessing wondering why the direction buttons wont work or so on and so on. Not really an issue once you have used the player for a while and have got to grips with the whole system.

---Music---

The MP4 player plays not only standard MP3 files but comes in handy for the windows CD burning lovers (like me) and can play WMA files. Also WAV files are compatible so all in all 3 types of music file format can be played using this player (MP3, WMA, WAV)


---Video---

Unlike the music playback, there is only one type of file this player can understand for video playback and that is MPEG-4 or AVI which ever you prefer to call it. This is not a problem though as this type of file is very commonly used for video files on PC and the web so finding decent videos shouldn't prove hard. If it comes to a point where you fancy riping a DVD or TV show to your computer and fancy popping it on the Sumvision Sempra Pro then no problem. A great piece of converting software is supplied with this MP4 Player and once you have decided on the file you want its as simple as choosing a resolution and frame rate and then dragging and dropping, the file will automatically be converted to your desktop or to the player if you choose that option.

---Images---

Not only can this diverse and sleek looking little device play music and video files it can also display any uploaded JPG images. This is perfect for those times where you want to show off some of your pics of a night out or certain event to your friends or family and don't want to have the costly expense of printing them off or having too many people crowded around your PC. Just simply pass around and allow your friends to ooo and arh at your little pocket sized photo album. One tip though make sure they give you it back :P

---Sound---

The sound on this device is great clear and precise you wont have any doubts about the quality of it at all. Having saying that the speaker on the back of the player is rubbish but then again who tends to play music on a portable player out loud any way (thinks of public transport and back row idiots grrrr). Head phones! The supplied head phones are well not that good buy some better ones is all i can say but once you have some decent ones the sound outputted is epic for such a small thing!


---Controls---

OK this is the last topic ill bring up i promise, but this i had to bring up the buttons and control system can be very difficult to pick up at 1st but with a little practise it should get a lot easier. apart from that the buttons themselves are made from plastic and feel pretty cheap and can be a let down to an other wise perfect piece of hardware. The controls as mentioned earlier involve numerous amount of pressing and holding to navigate and can be quite annoying at times.

---Overall---

Overall I recommend this MP4 player to anyone the sound is great the display is brilliant, the size and look are wonderful and oh yes the price! It costs as little as £32 pound on amazon so lets see hardly going to break the bank as it does for most MP4 players out there *cough* ipod! *cough* ooo sorry better now :)

4 Stars! not quite 5 due to the controls and cheap buttons but still amazingly good!
