Sweex Clipz MP300 2 GB
Advantages: Compact, cheap, good sound quality
Disadvantages: No shuffle option so must listen to songs in order, unless you mix music on the pc before transfer
If you are looking for a very basic and easy to use MP3 player that can play WMA and MP3 files, for a cheap price of between £8-£15, the Sweex clipz mP300 could be one to consider.
I bought mine for use on the way to work. The cheap price attracted me because I didn't want anything expensive in the event of it getting lost or pinched. It's fine for its purpose that I bought it for, but it must be noted, it IS very basic.
Small and lightweight, this MP3 player easily fits into my pocket. It's very durable as has been shoved into my pockets and handbags many a time with no damage so far. The design is rather like its been based upon the classic ipod shuffle. The outside of the player is made of aluminium and you can get it in various colours, black, green, pink, red, silver and yellow.
There is a play and pause button, previous, next and volume up and down buttons on a designed cross in the centre. There is a belt clip on the back which is very secure as I've seen my better half pinch it on days and attach it to his belt easily. On the side of the player is where you plug the headphones in and on the other side is a USB and on and off switch.
**2GB worth of songs**
Mine is 2GB but I think you can get 512, 1GB and 4GB from what I remember (I've had this a good while!). My player can hold about 4 to 5 hundred songs which is more than enough really. It is however low in comparison to the more modern equipment around, especially compared to that of the Ipod with its 160GB capacity.
**Easy to use**
All you need to do is slide the button to switch it on and operate it from there on. You need to charge it via a USB and when charged, it lasts for about 4 hours. Charge time is about an hour or slightly longer.
Transferring music is really easy. You just plug it into the pc via the USB and copy and paste your music into the specific area.
Can't fault it for a small and basic player! Good quality sound is played that is free from distortion and crackling even with volume up high.
The only negative really is that there is no shuffle option and no screen to view the track.
For such a cheap price, I am more than happy with my little player. I much prefer it for taking to work, or cleaning around the house. It's really great value and very durable.
Summary: Inexpensive and plays well
