Advantages: Recognisable interface, good close range audio recording.

Disadvantages: Bad long-range audio capture, lacks originality

I have never been a fan of unibody- USB MP3 players, so I bought this to see how they had progressed since I bought a logic model a few years back.

The first thing I noticed was the OLED display, which I am a fan of. It is difficult to see where the screen starts and ends, it looks like part of the (slightly odd) decoration. Sadly, it is only one colour, another element would be a great asset to the device.

The controls are a little cramped on such a small (USB drive sized) item, I do have quite wide fingers so I found myself pressing two or three buttons at once. However, the interface is very easy to get to grips with; it felt like I had used it before, oddly familiar. The music player has all the basic functions, including a built in EQ, sadly, there is not a custom setting.

The voice recorder is OK- there is some background noise but not too much, good for personal note taking (because of the device's size), but not for the cliché of 'recording lectures'.

Overall, this MP3 player is nothing special, this would most probably appeal to the athlete market for its size and good durability.

Summary: Don't get too excited.
