Excessive use kills it (Wharfedale FM6709 4GB)

Advantages: Battery life was more than adequate Disadvantages: Bog standard headphones didn't provide sound quality & sudden unprovoked death I received this smart looking slimline mp3 player as a Christmas present, and was initially pleasantly surprised. Prior to this I had a Phillips jukebox, which literally died a horrible death, never to be revived - sad, but true. With the Wharfedale, the first thing I noticed was the 1.8" colour TFT screen - it could have potentially been bigger-especially for video playback. Saying this, I liked the actual design of it - the touchscreen capability of the buttons below the screen, and the sleek thickness ((H)9, (W)4, (D)0.8 cm) of the actual device - it fitted comfortably alongside my phone without me noticing it was there. The memory capacity of 4GB (1000MP3/2000 WMA tracks)was great and the sound quality was relatively ok with the headphones supplied, but I got some more state of the art headphones as I was not too impressed. After this minor adjustment it worked like a dream. I often go to the gym, so they were pretty much attached to me. The battery life was good, in that i wouldnt need to charge it again for about a week - of roughly 8 hours use. A few months after having it though, it suddenly decided to stop working. I do not recall it being damaged in any way, but promptly returned it, luckily at Argos for a full refund. Reliability wise, it's not all that. Summary: Not the most reliable of MP3 players
