Advantages: Good value
Disadvantages: Lacks a decent bass sound
This boombox cost us just £14.97 from Asda a couple of years ago.
It came boxed with usage instructions inside. A mains lead was also included in the package.
The boombox is strong and sturdy. It's shaped to look quite modern and it would fit in with any lounge/ bedroom decor. The boombox is black and grey in colour and the ariel extends to fit above the boombox. The ariel was quite flimsy to begin with but it's stiffened up a little now and it hold it's position a lot better. Using the ariel is easy, simply twist it around until you get the signal coverage that you require. There is no DAB digital radio on this device, it's simply just AM and FM radio. It manages to pick up "big" stations well, like Radio One for example, however it often needs tuning in for smaller stations, i.e Radio Nottingham.
The CD player is great though. The audio quality is fantastic for the price and the CD draw is easy to load. You don't hear any excess noise coming from the CD drawer, all you hear is the music so that's a lot better in my opinion. The boombox just concentrates on playing your music. The boombox doesn't sound tinny but the bass quality is average, this may disappoint some people, especially people who like to listen to "bassy" music like dance and trance. However I listen to pop music mainly and this boombox is perfect for my favourite genre.
I would recommend this boombox. It's good quality and it's well priced too.
Summary: Not bad for the price
