Advantages: Neatly designed,
Disadvantages: A bit awkward if you want to use with a non iPod type player
This sleek looking black box is an alarm and an iPod docking station. You simply stick your iPod into the slot at the top and it completes the high-tech design.
The unit has two alarm settings which can be programmed to your requirements and so you can set programmes for work days and non work days quite easily, without have to remember to change the alarm clock 'wakeup' time. There's nothing worse than being woken up at the crack of dawn by an 'over enthusiastic' beeping alarm, when you don't have to get up as it's your day off.
You can set this to wake you up using tracks from your iPod, your favourite radio channel, or an ordinary beeping alarm call.
The unit has twin sixteen watt speakers measuring 2.75 inches each, which pump out a great sound and mean that you can listen to your iPod without headphones, or earpiece.
If you want to use this docking station with a different brand of mp3 player, you will need to attach it using the cable that comes in the box. There is also a remote control provided.
I like the look of this and the black, shiny case is stylish and matches well with any bedroom decor.
It is also quite robust, which I discovered when I knocked the whole thing flying off the bedside table. I wouldn't recommend treating the unit like this, but it's good to know that it isn't one of those flimsy things that would be useless after the slightest knock.
Summary: Sleek, shiny, good looking unit
