      Great portable radio

I never really have been a fan of portable radios, simply because I have always had an MP3 player to listen to my music on, but when the radio in my car decided to break, i thought it would be a great idea to use this radio for the time being.

My partner bought this radio a while back, on offer on the internet. As far as i can remember it only cost £10, which for a radio like this i thought was very cheap.

The product has both AM and FM frequencies and has a very crisp and clear sounding speaker inside, which is the only real quality that I look for in a radio. The radio is made by Panosonic, who make a number of electrical items and is increasingly popular. The item is silver in appearance and is very portable. This radio would be brilliant taken to the beach, a picnic or even to work.

This item would make a great gift for anyone i think, especially the elderly. I tend to use this radio to listen to sports on, as it is much easier and cheaper to listen to the match on here instead of paying for the subscription services that are available.

This type of item is available to but online, but i suggest looking on amazon for the best deals. That is where we got our radio from. I should think if it is not on offer, it would be around £15, which should also include delivery.

      Overall, brilliant product.

The best radio I've owned. I love it!

I got this radio free with an F1 magazine subscription around 9 years ago. I can't believe how well it has lasted through being dropped off the fridge and various other surfaces!

The radio is a convenient small size (83x62x33mm), great for carrying around the house or for taking camping or on holiday. It has curved edges and is finished in a silvery colour. It still doesn't look dated in my kitchen all these years later. It has a volume dial and tuner knob on the right-hand side and an FM/AM selector on the top edge. On the left-hand side there is a High/Low tone switch, an earphone port and a "DC in 3V" port. The aerial folds away onto the top of the radio. It is powered by 2 "C" size batteries. It also has a carrying cord.

The batteries in this radio last a surprisingly long time. I use it during breakfast, also when cooking or working around the house so it gets a lot of use, especially at weekends. Even with this a set of good-quality batteries will last at least 6 months.

The radio is easy to tune and has a loud top volume, although it doesn't sound brilliant at top volume. To be honest though the volume at which it starts to sound worse is far louder than I'd ever have it. At normal volume it sounds great. When I'm doing housework I put it on the landing of the middle floor and I can hear it downstairs and upstairs too which is really useful.

I really can't believe how robust this radio is. I've dropped it more times than I can remeber from all sorts of heights and onto tiled floors, outside concrete and all sorts. It has never affected the workings of the radio, the only affect it has had is to break the battery cover (which I just don't use now), and scratched the paintwork a bit. The aerial is sturdy too, it hasn't bent at all unlike other radios I've had.

I absolutely love this radio and it's the best free gift I've had! It's great for every-day use at home, outside, camping and even a few times in the car when my car radio broke!

If you can still buy this radio I'd recommend it to anyone. I'd like to give it 10 stars but I'll have to make do with 5!
