Advantages: Timer and clock facility

Disadvantages: Preset stations cannot be operated from unit

Purchased to replace Sony CDFS03 having trouble with tape not switching off at end. The Panasonic RX-DX1 has full switch off on all tape functions and works perfectly and sounds positive. The sound quality is extremely good on radio, CD, and tape. Operating the unit is easy to learn and the remote control gives adequate facility to operate from a distance. Presets only cover 12 stations on each band (FM and AM). 20 stations on each band would be more useful. Not able to operate presets from the unit is another disadvantage.
The specification on the website states the timer covers playback and record. Record must be the tape but the timer does not operate on tape and the manual does not have any reference to it. This is very misleading and was one good reason for the purchase in the first place.
However what it does it does very well and I am satisfied with it.
