Advantages: Radio presets, AC powered
Disadvantages: Nothing
I purchased this item from eBay for about 20 quid after being sick of using my mobile phone alarm and generally it letting me down.
This is the official write up and my review can be found just after this paragraph. With the AJ210 radio alarm clock, you will be able to know what the weather is like outside even before you open the curtains. With its sophisticated design and large, backlit LCD screen, the AJ210 displays the time, the surrounding temperature and atmospheric conditions using animated icons and colours. You will be immediately up-to-date on the weather with this user-friendly system. The AJ210 also includes 10 FM radio presets so you can listen to your favourite stations when you wake up. The AJ210 also has several different alarms, including a progressive-volume alarm for an easier wake up call. You'll look forward to waking up with the AJ210 weather station radio alarm clock!
Packaging=
Very well packaged, functions detailed on a white box and clock well protected inside.
In the box=
Main clock radio and AC adapter, instruction booklet.
Design=
Looks very modern in silver, clear and white parts. Suit any style of home, great on the bedside table :)
Functionality=
It is easy to understand with a large and clear display.
I find the time hard to read as it is not an LED but an LCD display, at night or early morning, it is fine in light conditions but you would have to press the backlight button in order to view the time in the dark. The reason you would turn the backlight off at night is because it is mega bright, handy if you need go the loo and just pop it on to see without puting the light on. But the option is there for bright, dim or just completely off.
There is a funky light in the corner which is related to the weather conditions which is a neat touch.
It is AC powered with battery back up, just cos you never know! Have you ever had a power cut and your alarm has not gone off? Not good...
It displays the current time, radio station if on or alarm time if radio not on and of course indoor temperature and predicted weather conditions.
Never had a problem tuning the radio station or setting the alarm, the option to wake up to the radio is brilliant instead of a horrible alarm sound, who wants to wake up to that?!
The radio has auto tune and presets so so easy. Clear signal and very clear sound.
There is an option for dual alarms as well as the usual snooze function which I mean lets face it an extra 10 mintutes never hurt anyone.
I have seen this at various prices, the reason I bought this is it was the only model I've ever seen with a radio and weather predictions that runs off the mains, I wanted all these functions and got them in this product.
Summary=
Easy to navigate, looks very sleek and contemporary, good speakers for the radio, make sure you look around at prices though as have seen them up to 40 quid and mine was £20 ish so I knew I was getting a bargain. Worth getting if you are in the market for one of these.
