I am a big fan of projector alarm clocks and have owned many different ones over the years and I also like to have a radio in the bedroom to listen to of a night when I cant drop off to sleep so when I came across this philips clock and radio in one it seemed like a great idea despite the hefty price of almost £60.
Looking at the picture on the web site it looked quite a nice design that would fit well with our bedroom, upon arrival and opening it though it did feel rather cheaply made so dont think it should have had such a high price tag to it as it wouldnt last long if the children got hold of it or a pet knocked it off so bear this in mind before purchasing it.
It is really easy to use even for someone like me who is prEtty much an idiot when it comes to technology so would suit elderly people who are not wanting anything to difficult to operate.
The radio quality isnt the best I have heard but then it never is on devices like this as they always seem to struggle to pick up certain stations clearly without some interferance but for the price you could get a better quality radio if you are only looking for it to be used for this function but as a occasional radio like I use it for it does the job well enough for me.
The projector on it is great as you can set it to be on your ceiling or on a wall depending on what you prefer and can adjust the size and brightness of it which you cant do with cheaper projector clocks, I have mine set on the wall next to my bed for ease of seeing when I wake in the night.
The time on it is automatically updated so you never have to worry about it loosing time or changing it when the clocks change in the spring or autumn which is a feature I would love on all my clocks, lazy I know but wouldnt it be great.
It has a sleep timer function so I can put the radio on when I cant drop off to sleep and set it for an hour then it turns off for me on its own so it wont be going all night once I have fallen to sleep.
The alarm feature on this is also great as I have the choice of it coming on as the radio to wake me up or a standard alarm tone too so of a week day when I have got to get up for the school run I use the standard alarm and of a weekend we use the radio function to wake us up more gently.
If you are looking for a projector clock with all these added features then go for it as it is great but if you are just after a radio then it is expensive for the quality.
Enjoy the convenience of time shone onto any surface you like. Sharpen the image or flip it, so it is always clear and readable on a wall or ceiling. This clock also automatically sets the time and offers melody, radio or buzzer as alarm options.
