Advantages: Set your radio alarm volume, rather than defaulting to the volume the night before.

Disadvantages: Might not pick up every radio station

Before I got the Siesta Pure, I had only had a fairly basic radio alarm clock with FM radio and one alarm setting. In comparison, this radio alarm clock is fantastic. Because there are three settings, (and I am a fan of sleeping late at the weekend) I really appreciate having three different alarm clock settings without having to worry about remembering to turn my alarm off on the Friday and switching it back on the Sunday. Ever have that sinking feeling on a Sunday because pushing the alarm on button reminded you the weekend was nearly over? Don't have it anymore!

I'm not a fan of most non-digital radio stations, and they're not what I'd choose to wake up to. So having the choice of the massive range of digital radio stations is great. Even if you don't go for this one, I would highly recommend getting a digital radio alarm clock for this reason, there is a definite improvement to starting your day to a song you like rather than something that annoys you.

There are three other features I really like. It goes into a lower power mode after it goes off so the clock light is dimmed (but still readable in the dark) and doesn't glare. You can set the volume level for the alarm to go off at, rather than it using the last volume setting you played your radio on - great if either you want to listen to something quietly while you go to sleep, but don't want to sleep through your alarm, or if you've been listening to the radio with the volume off and you forget to turn it down to a less frightening alarm volume! And finally, if you turn it off at the socket when on holiday or there is a power cut, the clock automatically goes back to the right time (and picks up BST changes automatically over night) and with your alarm settings where they were.

Only one small downside - I recently moved from a second floor to a ground floor flat. Both my digital radios (I have one in the kitchen as well) pick up a few less stations now, but the alarm clock which has a cable style aerial (rather than an old style metal extending one like the one in my kitchen) doesn't pick up every station that the other does. Having said that, I didn't have any problems when I lived higher up.

Summary: All the features from a radio alarm clock that I could want.
