Great Clock Radio packed full of features, does everything you want!

I have owned this Clock radio for about 5 years and it has never failed me! This has to be one of the best clock radios i have seen on the market.

The unit is a nice size and doesnt take up too much room as well as looking very nice too.

The time is displayed as Digital and can be set to 12 or 24 hours depending on your preference, the display is very clear and has two brightness options meaning you can personalize the clock for you.

Below the time read out are your two alarm times, this is a great feature because you can set one alarm to beep and one alarm to turn on the radio. I always set both using the radio to gently wake me up and the buzzer to shout at me when i lay in!

There is also a day light saving button which means when the clocks go back you dont have to reset the time, simply click the button and it switches back or forward 1 hour!

On top of the unit are the preset radio buttons offering you up to 5 presets. There is also a nice big snooze button and a button to that will make the date flash up although this only lasts a few seconds.

The radio can be tuned using two buttons.

The only downside to this device is the volume control, it is on a wheel on the side, but it seems that i can only make it either very quiet or very loud, a more responsive button would have been a lot better. The sound quality itself i cannot fault.

I would highly reccomend this clock radio, and if it ever stops working i will try to replace it with the same one!!

I absolutely love this little radio from Sony. It is made even better by the fact that it has an alarm clock on it as well. I had been in search of a new radio/alarm clock for some time. When I saw this item, I was immediately attracted to it. It offered everything that I needed and it was also very well designed. I will try to justify my reason for selecting and then purchasing this product, in the coming paragraphs. It comes in a very modern silver colour that matches the colour of my stereo, television and also my computer. It therefore doesn't look out of place in my bedroom, where it sits proudly on my bedside table. This silvery/grey colour tends to be the way in which all electronic products are now offered. It's much more attractive than former colour of black. The buttons are a shiny, chrome effect, colour. This add to the real modern look of the product. The shape and size is also ideal. It isn't at as big and bulky as many of the other similar products I have come across. It measures just, 11.5 cm x 8.5 cm x 12 cm. This is probably the smallest product of its kind that I know about. The shape and form is very, 'funky'. It stands upright, with the speaker facing outwards, rather than towards the ceiling. I would describe many other clock/radios as being laid flat, which isn't very imaginative. It weighs in at just over 230g, which is next to nothing. The product is very reliable, I haven't had any problems, of any nature, since I purchased it a few months ago. You would expect this sort of high quality, from arguably the worlds leading electronics brand, Sony. They do have an uncanny habit of producing top quality goods that keeps you loyal to their brand. It is also very durable, as I have knocked it on the floor many times, when scrambling to hit the sleep button. The radio offers the FM and AM frequencies, all that you really need, unless there's test match cricket on ra
dio 4 LW that you want to listen to. It's handy to have radio that's near the bed so you can operate it without getting out of bed. It also has a very handy sleep function. You are also able to preset your five favourite stations that can then be selected at the touch of a button. I need the radio to get me to sleep at night and with this product I can set it to turn off after a while. I used to waste so much electricity when keeping my stereo on all night. Now, to the really handy thing about this clock/radio. If there are two of you that need to get up for work in the morning, there are two alarms. You can set the alarm to go off at two different times. So, if the husband has to leave for work earlier than the wife, he needn't worry about flapping around trying to reset the alarm. This is something that I have never seen before, although I believe there are now a couple of other products out there with this dual alarm. This really makes the product great, rather than just very good. The display, is digital. The time can be shown in either 24 or 12 hour form. The background light is an ice blue so it's very clear and easy to read in the dark. Also, the band that the radio is set to is also displayed in the bottom left hand coner. If you're currently in the market for a clock/radio, or one or the other, consider this. You get all of the above features for around £40. However, the price may have changed now. It comes with a 1 year manufacturers warranty from Sony and a 28 day return policy from the shop in which you buy it. It should be available in all electronics stores and will be found among portable radios and other clock/radios. This is an ace product, so please make you sure you give it some thought.
