It is impossible to have a great affection for a clock radio. It performs one of the most disliked tasks that any electrical device can do - it wakes you up in a morning. The 390 LWH can do this either with a buzzer or with a pre-selected radio station. Frankly why you would choose the buzzer I do not know when you can wake up to Sara Cox or Sarah Kennedy, though wait a minute the buzzer suddenly becomes an attractive option. I had not any previous luck with a couple of wind up radios that simply didnt charge or were not a good enough quality in reception. I purchased the Sony icf-s22 from a Woolworths store for £9.99 and have simply not looked back. It a tough, durable portable FM/AM radio that takes two AA batteries. The power consumption is excellent, as i seem to have to change the batteries very rarely indeed. I use the radio on all camping trips and on my boat and i have never had any complaints. Be it about reception, battery usage ...
