I've owned several of these radios over the years (close on 20, I reckon) and am still amazed at how advanced they are. Sony tried to "improve" on the design with the SW07 and the ridiculously large sw7600GR, but never really succeeded. For anyone wanting a wide-range, multi-mode, pocket-sized, receiver with pretty good sensitivity and excellent selectivity, the SW100 is very hard to beat. Sony should never have stopped manufacturing them - even if (according to the rumours) they made a loss on every single one they sold.............Perhaps that's why they command such high prices now!

Don't buy the Sony ICF SW100 - Advantages: Good when it works, small - Disadvantages: It has a design fault, stops working after a year, ribbon connectors fail
