I paid just under fifteen pounds for this boombox, that was from Tesco Direct. I tend to purchase a lot of appliances from Tesco as both myself and partner qualify for their staff discount, which is 10% off any purchase.

The boombox was well wrapped and protected in the box. It's pretty standard really. It has the standard radio functions of AM and FM and it has a CD drawer on the top of it. Loading a CD is really simple. You simply press the button next to the drawer, which makes the drawer "pop up". You then load your CD into the drawer and you're off. The sound quality is basic, to say the least. I wouldn't like to describe the sound as "tinny", but it does sound cheap. There's hardly any bass sound and all genres of music sound the same, just cheap!

The radio isn't DAB or anything special, it's the usual stations in and around your area. Tuning into a station is simple but the reception isn't always reliable. I would rather pay more and get a decent radio as this one is pretty basic and it doesn't pick up many stations to be fair. Oh well. What can you expect for the price? At least it picks up Radio 1 though!

The boombox looks nice though. It has a modern design and wouldn't look out of place in any room of the house. It's ideal for children to use as it's so easy to operate.

You get what you pay for!
