      A good buy

I have a lot of rechargeable batteries in my house, partly because of my Wii, and partly because I try to use rechargeables where possible as they are better for the environment.

The first rechargeable batteries I ever bought were these Energizer double A batteries. They have a rating of 2500 mAh, which makes them more powerful than many other rechargeable batteries on the market. The greater the mAh generally means the longer the batteries will last per charge, so be careful when you're buying rechargeables because cheap ones aren't necessarily better value! Always look to see what rating they are, and make sure this is suitable for the charger/products you're intending to use them with.

These batteries look just like regular AA batteries, and are a silver colour with a hint of green and 'Energizer' written across them in black. If you use a mix of rechargeable and non-rechargeable batteries, make sure the other people in your house know which are which, or try to keep them separate where possible, otherwise they will end up being extremely expensive to replace if people chuck them out!

To charge them you will need to buy a charger, or buy the batteries with an Energizer charger, which is what I did for convenience. You can get Energizer chargers which charge four or eight batteries, which is really convenient if you have a Wii. The batteries are generally supposed to be charged in twos or multiples of two with this charger. The charger you have will influence the amount of time the batteries take to charge, so again if fast charges are important to you there's no point in scrimping on a charger. With my Energizer charger I've found it makes funny noises when the batteries are left in too long after fully charged, so for safety reasons always unplug the charger when it's finished and don't go out of the house when they're nearly charged just in case.

Energizer batteries can be used for a wide range of things, including digital cameras, MP3 players, games consoles like the Nintendo DS, and various other things. I've used them in old TV remotes, my Wii remotes, a radio and various other appliances around the house and they are pretty good and hold their charge reasonably well. I would like it if they charged faster, but I know that's partly to do with the charger. The fact that they are silver in colour also helps set them apart from non-rechargeables.

If you want to buy these 2500 mAh batteries, then you can expect to pay around the £15 mark on Amazon. Lower mAhs will be cheaper. I would recommend these batteries as they are a good price - don't buy them on the high street because they are more expensive - as an online buy they will save you lots of money on batteries and help the environment.

They last much longer than the cheap batteries you buy from the pound shop etc. and are good for draining products such as digital cameras. Energizer claim these batteries can be charged up to 500 times, which makes them a good investment for those who use a lot of battery-guzzling products. It's also best to buy a few spares so you can always have some charged in case you need them.

A great set of rechargeable batteries that are easy to use and charge.

I have been using a variety of rechargable batteries for years and unless I'm caught out I don't like to use disposables, as the amount of batteries I go through would mean I'd be filling half the landfills in England with the spent ones. Rechargeables, though more expensive to buy, are better in the long run as I can recharge them whenever I like at a tiny cost of electricity.

My pack of Energizer AA 2500 mAh Rechargeable Batteries cost me £8 from a supermarket for a pack of 4 double A size ones. They were on offer at the time, but this is about the right cost for them, I've not really seen them cheaper. I bought a charger for these seperately - the charger pack came with 4 batteries to start with too, but this pack was just an additional pack for me so I had more available.

The Energizer brand is one that I trust and their black, green and silver branding is very eye catching on the shop shelves, meaning they're easy for me to find!

When brand new, you have to give them a full charge on the charger in order for them to work best, I find. When fully charged, the charger will flash to let you know the batteries are fully changed.

After a full charge, the batteries are ready to use. I've found they don't last as long as disposable ones in general, but their benefit is that you can charge them over and over, and I've never had to replace any of mine for years and years. These last around a week when in my optical mouse, but I use that nearly all day every day, so I consider that excellent. I've had these in the remote of the TV and not had to change them for months before, although the main consumers of batteries in our house are the kids toys.

For someone with kids, rechargeables are brilliant, and these Energizer ones are very reliable and safe. We would go through so many batteries without these rechargeables, and having the ability to charge them means that I'm hardly ever caught short with batteries, unless I forget to put them on to charge which is rare.

I have tried other supermarket brand rechargeable batteries, but they are not as good as these Energizer ones, so I will continue to use and recommend them.

        Great batteries

Hi today I will be reviewing Energizer AA 2500 mAh Rechargeable Batterys.

        Price
You can buy these from Amazon for cheapest £7.05 I got them for £10 from B&Q and I got a charger as well.

        Life
I recommend fully charging these for first time use. I put them on for a day. From the full charge I managed to get a week use out of them. I use them in my Xbox 360 Controllers which are used by me and my brothers so they were on for most of the week.

        Charge
While using the official charger for this product it takes around 6 hours to charge fully (Overnight).

        Size
I find that these batteries are a little larger than the usual AA batteries because in my Xbox controller when I first got them in they took quite a lot of force to get them out again. After using them for quite a lot it seems to have stretched the battery pack so it's fine now.

I believe that these batteries are good for the price and if you buy the charger you get 4 for free included with it. They last longer than the usual AA battery which is great for Xbox users as it means you won't have any disconnections during any online games and then you can charge it overnight.

I recommend these to anyone looking to save some money on batteries.

        Thanks for reading.
