I have variety of devices I use that require charging from USB and with only really having my laptop, which is on for a maximum of 1-2 hours per day, I don't get the chance to charge my devices as much as I would like. So when I was browsing online and came across the Hama range of USB chargers I decided to give them a go and have been pleased with the results.
The item in question here is the "Pico" charger from Hama which is designed for in car charging. I needed something to plug in the wall that would charge my items such as Ipod and ereader without having to use my laptop and I found the solution. For only £4,99 on amazon this has meant I can get more use out of all my goods!
Basically, if you have a device that requires to be charge from a usb power source then this will suit your purposes. You basically plug it into the wall (the pictures is a US version but there is a UK version and an adaptor) and then plug your device into the bottom.
I find that this works a treat and tends to charge my devices faster than any other item. This is perhaps because all the power is going to the device whereas when on a laptop etc it doesn't. The plug does tend to get hot so I would not leave this unattended or go out, go to bed etc and leave it one as it charges things like the Sony e-reader (3 hours to charge on laptop) in 45 minutes.
It's a real gem and being so small is easy to store and this device alone has meant I can use devices like me e-book reader whenever I need to as there is no worries about waiting for it to charge.
