The play and charge kit is an accessory for the Microsoft Xbox 360.

In the most basic sense, it is simply a USB cable, one end connects to a USB port on the xbox and the other to the top of your wireless xbox controller, allowing you to re-charge its batteries without interrupting your gameplay.

To buy brand new from a high street store, you should expect to pay in the range of £10-£15, which is by no means a bargain, but the best price you'll get for this very handy piece of kit!
The play and charge kit also comes with one of the rechargeable lithium batteries used by the wireless controller.

The other option of recharging these batteries, is by using a quick charge kit, however I think this is a far superior method as it would not interrupt your gaming to recharge a battery, the quick charge kit requires that the battery be removed from the controller forcing you to stop playing or use AA batteries to power it.

Chances are you can grab one of these off eBay for way under a tenner, and i'd highly reccommend it!
