“ Brand: Black & Decker „
I guess it us a couple of month ago now that we bought this Black and Decker drill. We had bought a new bed from Argos and 5 hours into our flat pack nightmare we realised we needed a power tool if we were going to get to sleep in our bed that night. As a result we dashed to Tesco at 9.30pm and found only one drill for sale, the Black and Decker EPC12 and so quickly bought it and went home to complete our bed.
I remember that we paid £20 something when we bought our drill. Not remembering exactly what we paid I have looked online now and Tesco currently have this fir sake at £30. When we made our purchase we were pretty desperate and even if we had to pay the current listed price of £30 I know we would have no problem and I think it was worth the money to get our bed put together.
Using the Product
As I say we purchased this and needed to use it straight away. The instruction manual does say to charge it before first use, however, lucky for us our drill came with enough charge in it to put our bed together. Thank you Black & Decker as not needing to wait for it to charge was a huge bonus.
We used this drill initially as an electric screwdriver. The bit needed to use as a screwdriver is provided with the drill and we were able to quickly and easily assemble our bed and attach all of the wooden bed slats using this drill.
Since our first time using this drill it has become really very useful. We have used it for numerous bits of DIY around the house with the latest one being putting some shelves up.
My top tip with this drill us that of you don't think it is working very well it probably just needs charging a bit more.
The battery takes a good few hours to charge which is a bit annoying as Rick and I are both quite impatient, however, you can use the drill whilst it is charging so it's not too bad.
There are absolutely loads of different setting for this drill. The key features are according to the user manual.
1. variable speed switch or two speed on/off switch
2. Forward / reverse slider
3. Mode selector / torque adjustment collar
6. Battery release button
We have found this drill perfect for our basic DIY requirements. It dies everything we need it to, my husband Rick would like it to have a light on it, but other than this there is nothing we have found lacking in this drill. At £30 I give this 5 stars.
