OBaby Atlas Stroller
by Ninski1
Currently retailing on Amazon for £63.99 (July 2012). I have mine in black and white scribble. I bought this pushchair when my son was 3 months old as were going on holiday to France and we needed something smaller and lighter than the three wheeler we used everyday.
The pushchair has a multi position seat unit with full lie ... back positioning with 5-Point adjustable harness, it comes with a compact umbrella fold, easy to use flexible carry handle & a raincover. It has ergonomic foam handles, a removable hood and a mesh shopping basket. It is lightweight and suitable from Birth to 15kg (approx 3 years). The fabric of the pushchair is easy to wipe clean and there is an adjustable soft plastic foot rest. The wheels are lockable at the front or can be used on a swivel. There is a brake on the wheel, though this was not that secure and I sometimes found that I had to push down quite hard on it with my foot to make sure it was properly in place.
You can also purchase a foot muff and matching changing bag, though I did not as I used the ones I already had.
Overall I found using the pushchair very easy, to collapse it there is a red leaver that you flick up and then another lever a bit further down the pushchair near the back wheel that you also push up, then you just gently push the handles together and the whole thing folds in on itself, there is a handy clip to keep the pushchair together and the handle is centrally located so picking up the pushchair and a baby at the same time was fairly easy.
The rain cover was easy to fit onto the pushchair, you had to make sure that the hood was securely in place and then there were a number of black clips that you positioned along the frame of the pushchair, there was also a little flap so allow air flow if you went into a shop.
The mesh shopping bag I found pretty useless to be honest, it could hold quite a lot of stuff but when the pushchair was fully reclined you could not put things in it, it is only when the chair is in a more upright position that the basket is accessible.
I am 5ft 11 inches and found that the pushchair was a tiny bit too short for me, but I only used it on a few occasions so this did not cause me any problems, I found the foam on the handle strangely tactile and I would flick at with my thumb whilst pushing my son around, unfortunately this caused it to split and I patched it up with a bit of masking tape, but I then started flicking this too.
Overall, I would recommend this pushchair for those on a very tight budget as it is suitable from birth and when my son was in it he always looked comfortable and happy, however, I think that it is best suited as a second pushchair for use if you are just popping out or need something that is lightweight as there are a few niggling issues, as stated above. OBaby Zezu Pramette & Infant Car Seat
by clairesmiffy
For my 5th(and final!) baby, I decided I would like an all-in-one pushchair/carrycot combi - a pramette. My criteria for the unit was very specific - it had to have adjustable height on the handle, be easily used by my 6ft plus husband, the pushchair unit had to be able to be front or rear facing and it had to have a carrycot. As I ... didn't know what the sex of my baby was, the colour needed to be neutral but not boring. I didn't ever actually expect to get all of the boxes ticked on my list - but in the Obaby Zezu, I did!!
I ordered the Lime green spotty colourway - the main colour is Lime green with white and black polka dot contrast on the inner, and head hugger. The included raincovers are clear with large black polka dots - a very funky look when it is raining! There is an integrated hood and a removable apron, in lime green and the seat unit has a removable bar across the front for your toddler to hold onto.
I only used the carry-cot until my daughter was 3 months old. The pushchair seat unit also doubles up as the carrycot, with small and easy adjustments to convert from one to another. A liner is provided to cover and soften the inside of the carry-cot - this being a neutral off-white made it a more peaceful environment for the baby to sleep in. I actually put in a carry-cot mattress as well as the liner as I felt the bottom was not padded enough for baby to be comfortable in, especially on a day out, or if you were using it for baby to sleep in for a long period of time. You can use the attached D rings to put reins on the baby for safety if you wish(I did!)
When you decide to use the pushchair unit for seating, again a few small adjustments converts the carry-cot for this purpose. I had her facing me for the next several months, the pushchair has a 5 point seatbelt with padded covers on the straps, and all of these are fully adjustable. The pushchair unit can be fully reclined or nearly bolt upright, according to your baby's age and needs. This is achieved by pushing 2 buttons, on each side of the unit and tilting the seat.
If you wish to make the pushchair front facing, another set of two buttons, located again at the side of the unit need to be pressed whilst you lift the pushchait unit upwards. This is very easy and takes seconds to do. The seat merely locks onto two upward facing clips in whichever direction you choose to have it facing. The car seat also locks onto these same clips.
As I do not drive (but my hubby does) the pushchair has to cope with a fair amount of shopping, and it does so remarkably well, especially considering the shopping tray, which looks deceptively small. Although it goes into a point in the front of the pushchair, you can fit an awful lot of shopping underneath the seat, and you obviously have to choice of tying bags to the handle as well.
When it comes to collapsing the pushchair down to fit it tin the car, it still takes up quite a bit of room. When the carry-cot is being used, it needs to be taken off the base completely as it is unfeasibly large when collapsed with it on. When using the seat unit, it is better but still not brilliant. We have a large MPV car, and we often have to take the wheels off the base unit and store the seat seperately in order to maximise space when on a family day out, which is not difficult, but is inconvenient.
My only other moan is the apron which fits on as the carry-cot cover as well as on the pushchair. After a while the elastic stretches on the bottom and the bottom flaps up, allowing the cold air to get in and not protect the legs and feet of your little one. It is very frustrating to have to keep stopping and pulling it back down, only for it to keep popping off!
The one great thing about this pushchair is the ability to fit a tall toddler into it comfortably. My children are all very tall and I have had problems in the past with them being very cramped in most pushchairs. This one is long enough in the seat unit to cope with longer legs.
I have now been using this pushchair for 13 months, and other than the apron problem, it is still almost as good as new, looks very smart still and is still as sturdy as when I bought it - no mean feat considering the sheer amount of miles I walk with it every week, and the amount of shopping it has to carry! My Buggy Buddy Clip
by wazza115
My main pushchair when Lauren was little was a Graco Travel System and whilst the basket underneath was a decent size, I found that once my handbag was placed in it, it was almost full and as the Graco no hooks and handles to hang shopping from, I struggled when I went shopping to carry the bag whilst also manoeuvring Lauren around. ... After a bit of internet research, I decided to invest in My Buggy Buddy Clip.
The clip measures around 20cm x 10cm, half the clip is covered in foam meaning it wont scratch the frame or handle (although my had a foam handle so this wasn't an issue for me), the other half is metal and comes in three colours; black, blue or pink, having a girl, I had to have pink.
Attaching to my Graco was easy, just depress the clip and push over the handle, when you want to hang your shopping or handbag, push the same clip and slot the handles inside. The clip shuts securely and my bags were safe. At first the clip was a little stiff to operate but after using a few times, I loosened up a bit (but not too much so that the clip would come open on its own).
I purchased mine from Amazon for just under £5 with free delivery but they are also available from baby specialists like Kiddicare, Toys R Us and Boots.
There is another version available which has a combination lock on for around £10 but I didn't feel the need to buy this one as I never left the pushchair unsupervised.
Although it never happened to me, you do have to be careful about overloading the clip with bags as it may cause the pushchair to tip up.
Overall I would recommend these, for less than £5, it definitely helped me and made shopping trips more enjoyable. I would give 5 out of 5 stars.
