Baby Jogger City Foot Muff
Advantages: Warm cosy washes well fits well to the pushchair still able to fold the pushchair with it fitted
Disadvantages: None that we have found
I bought this Foot muff or cosy toes (depending on what phrase you like) to go with our Baby Jogger City Mini GT that we bought earlier in the year. Unfortunately Baby Jogger don't supply things like this with the pushchairs which I do think is a bit of a swizz. I got the Foot Muff from the Online 4 baby website for £35 including delivery which seems about the average price for the foot muff.
The Foot muff as well as being used for the GT version can also be used for Micro Mini and Summit Baby Jogger pushchairs.
To attach the foot muff to the pushchair is actually very straight forward I managed to do this easily in around 5 minutes after a quick read of the instructions. Firstly I had to unclip the straps from the rear of the pushchair and then thread these through several different holes so the straps would work through the foot muff then re attach them to the sections on the pushchair. One tip I would give is take note of which level the straps are on before taking them off as that will let you know which hole on the foot muff to thread them through as they correspond perfectly when the foot muff is lined up inside the pushchair. You then have to lift a flap on the foot muff to thread the handle of the fold mechanism through and away you go all fitted.
The foot muff reaches to the base on the seat so even larger children should be well covered as well as this being suitable for my 10 month old. The top of the muff also reaches up nice and far it can actually cover all of my son's body and head so I actually need to turn it over slightly so he can see out over the top. Whist this is a slight pain at present it does actually mean that as he gets larger he will still remain fully covered over the top of his body and in all likelihood up to his chin too. This means the foot muff is really nice and cosy for little ones and toddler alike. Inside the foot muff there is plenty of room meaning toddlers and larger children should have room to move and not feel too trapped inside in the cosy toes as it is my son has plenty of stretch room at only 10 months old.
The fact that you can still access the quick fold mechanism on the pushchair is ace and means that there is no need to take the foot muff off as you collapse it up and down. The foot muff stays in place well when the pushchair is collapsed and takes up very little additional room when collapsed in the boot of our car.
The fleecy lining and the fact that it covers so much of my son means that has he been kept warm in the cold and windy weather we had in autumn. He has also been very snug during the recent snow conditions and remained nice and warm and never complained of being cold inside the foot muff. The foot muff is lovely and cosy for my son as it is fully fleece lined. The softness of the foot muff is really nice against his skin and he actually seems to be really comfortable in there and often falls asleep all snuggled in the pushchair on the school run.
The zip on the foot muff opens and closes really easily so when I have been out shopping it has been easy to undo the zip quickly to stop him getting over heated when in the shops and zip him up again as we leave.
The foot muff is machine washable and keeps it shape and fleecy texture really well on the occasions that we have washed it. Drying it is by air as it is not suitable to go into a tumble drier but we found hanging near a radiator allowed it too dry overnight ready for the next day.
Whilst the foot muff is not advertised as waterproof to my knowledge it is certainly able to go without being soaked by the odd spots of rain. I have left the pushchair outside school whilst taking the children in and come out to find it has been wet from some unexpected rain but this has been limited to the outer of the foot muff and not permeated to the inside of the muff meaning my son was still nice and warm and dry when I put him back into the pram. Whilst I wouldn't go out in the rain with just the foot muff on the pushchair I equally now don't panic if it gets the odd spot of rain on it.
I am very happy with the foot muff it is nice and cosy, washes well is a great fit to my Mini GT pushchair. It is easy to fit and still allows you to collapse the pushchair with ease. I would definitely recommend this foot muff to other mums for their pushchairs. At RRP of £40 it is worth shopping around for offers on the price but it gets a full 5 stars from me.
Summary: A great foot muff that fits the GT Baby Jogger a treat keeps little ones warm and cosy
