I am a self confessed pushchair addict & have owned many many prams & pushchairs the Bertini Bidwell being one of them. I believe the Bidwell is no longer available new in the UK but I purchased one second hand from Ebay. I really wanted a "proper" pram!
The bidwell is such a lovely pram although it's HUGE and filled the back of my Mondeo estate. The seat unit faces both ways & lies totally flat so it's suitable from birth. The chassis is very sturdy & strong & looks really expensive & classy. It has the look of an old fashioned coach built pram but with a modern fill. It also has huge hood which you can practically pull over to cover the whole seat to keep baby protected. When the apron is attached to the seat unit it looks like a traditional pram.
The harness it a bit of a let down as it's a bit cheap looking & rather small. I sold my Bertini when my Daughter was 1 year old but I don't think the harness would have lasted much longer.
The basket is large so you can get lots of shopping which is great if like me you enjoy walking.
All four wheels on the Bidwell are steerable which makes steering & turning a dream, watch out when you go backwards though as it's a little confusung & I always found it easier to lock the wheels into the fixed position when reversing. The tyres are air filled which means the pram is great off road, even though this is a traditional looking pram we took it on many a country walk.
The pram came with and additional toddler seat which attaches to the frame. I never used this but it's such a good idea & I wished they's been around when my 2 sons were little.
Folding the pram down is just like an old style pram, you just release the handle & it swings over the body of the pram & that's pretty much it, hence the reason it doesn't fold down very small.
The raincover is a bit flimsy & doesn't attach to the pram so my daughter kept pulling it off, it also doesn't fit over the toddler seat which wasn't a problem for me but it would have annoyed me if I'd wanted to use the toddler seat.
All in all it's a lovely pram if you like walking or have a big car but definately not for those who use public transport or need to put it in & out of the car a lot. But if you do get one exppect to get stopped all the time with people complimenting you!
