The Bugaboo Bee stroller was brought in to offer a light weight alternative to the Bugaboo Bee standard buggy. It is, like all Bugaboos, stylish and fashionable. In fact many celebs have been photographed with this stroller. It is, in my opinion, one of the best strollers on the market today.
This stroller has 4 wheels. Unlike the 3 wheel models I find this really easy to manouver and change directions. The front two wheels spin round easily and dont get stuck like some other stroller models.
Although this stroller is lighter weight than the traditional Bugaboo Bee it is still sturdy. If you are expecting this to be super light like a Maclaren or cheaper stroller you need to have a look at it in shop first. It isn't as light as other options due to the hood and extra metal used to make the stroller. Have a try lifting and folding it in the shop 1st. A good stroller should allow mum to carry it short distances if required. If you cant do this choose a different product.
The hood comes in many different colours and like all Bugaboos there are no end of accessories you can add to it. Most clip on and off easily. Checkout a Bugaboo stockist for details. More shops than ever are stocking this stroller now so you are more likely to see them out and about. If you want an exclusive buggy this isn't really one anymore.
Expect to pay around £400 for this stroller. Prices don't really vary too much as Bugaboo are quite strict with their stockists to protect the brand. You may however find an ex-display model a little cheaper.
Overall I like this Stroller and think it is a good purchase if you would use it a lot for a toddler. I wouldn't advise it for very young babies as I don't think it looks very comfortable or secure.
As a mum of 2 you seem to learn your lessons on buying pushchairs! I bought this as my main pram and do you know what it was the best thing I ever did why wasn't this around 7 years ago when I had my first!
As I don't drive I needed something that was light weight able to use on london transport and easy to use and it ticks every box. It does take a while to get used to all the ways it can go as its quite stiff at first but trust me you become a pro after a while. I used the maxi cosi car seat with this pram too which is also a fantastic idea as you don't have to move baby out of car seats to put in the pram. I bought the baby nest too which I loved its for the first few months and although expensive I personally think a good inveastment and also the footmuff not only a liner for the pushchair but also keeps baby warm in the winter. My Chasis did occur a fault with the handle but bugaboo gurantee the pram for 3 years and they were fantastic they replaced the chasis within a week for me and checked with me that my faulty pram was still able to be used within that time as they would push for it to get to me sooner FAB! My baby is now a toddler and 2 years on I still love my pram and there was no need to buy a second pushchair with this as I did with my first as its as light and easy to steer and use as a pushchair, although did work out quite costley with everything I feel that I have def got my moneys worth! Well done BUGABOO!
I bought this bugaboo, not as a main stroller but for a stroller to take on holiday. I have a bugaboo chamelon and really enjoy that brand. So when this came out i thought it would be perfect. It is light weight, compact, has a one handed steering and has individual spring suspension, which makes it an even more comfortable ride. IT makes it so easy to maneouve even the tightest of corners. Just like its older sister, it has a reversable seating arrangement, which allows your child to either face you or away from you (we used this option alot as it allowed our child to see more of the surroundings instead of mums face!) The seat fully reclines and extends which is great for when they want to sleep. Although I feel not as comfortable as the chameleon seating, it was adequate for a holiday, but if you were to use this say in the uk, you can be the cocoon, which is an all in one keeping your baby dry. We also bought, a fleecy lining to go inside the pram to make it a bit more comfortable. The handle is adjustable to heights, making t great for couples as if your partner was to take them out for a walk or something they can make the height suitable to them. It has a maximum nfolded with of 20 inches making it very easy to get around and it fits easily through all doorways and public transport.
A downside to this pram is the weels, (although foam filled) which is a bonus considering the chameleon used to have air filled tyres which meant a puncture was a nightmare. Having had the chameleon with its chuncky whells making it suitable for nearly all terrain it has only the basic wheels found on any normal umbrella folding pram, which means that it struggled when being dragged across a beach. But with it being so light it was easy to take child out and just carry pram.
It does say suitable from birth but isn't a genuine lie flat option, if this is needed consider the ghecko or the chameleon. It does have the adaptability to have the maxi cosi cabrio seat (whoch isn't included ) It has a cocoon shaped hood with the option of 5 colours to ochoose for the hood. The shopping basket is good, and much easier to access. It is good if you have a small car and a small boot, and still want the title of a bugaboo but don''t want to have the fortune of a pram that doesn't fit. My mother has a ford Ka and it fits perfectly, with a little extra room.
