I've used a number of pushchairs over the years now but by far my favourite and the best one on the market in my opinion is the Bugaboo. This brand comes in a number of different styles and sizes and the one we have is the Chamelion. Now, there are a number of additional items you can buy when you have this pushchair, note I said buy as nothing comes as standard on this pushchair, you are lucky to get wheels really!! Over the years we have bought sun parasols, foot muffs, cup holders and standing plates and they have all been good quality, great purchases so when it came to thinking about this Bugaboo tray there was no hesitation really. The tray fits on the Chamelion but also fits on the frog and the donkey too.
Now that my little boy is getting older and is not a baby any more I like to have drinks and snacks for him when we are out and about. He is not quite walking yet so travels everywhere in his pushchair and so this is when I feed him when we are out. He is not that coordinated at the moment though so usually when I give him a drinks cup or snack it ends up at the bottom of his foot muff making a mess. Bugaboo market this item as a, "handy tray for your Bugaboo pushchair letting you keep drinks and snacks for you and baby close to hand when out and about."
For those of you that have a Bugaboo it is very easy to attach to your pushchair. It clips into the slot on the side of the pushchair where the bar that goes across the body usually clips in and uses the same clip in function as this bar so you will know that it is easy to slot in and out and once it is in its impossible for little fingers to get hold of and play with and possibly remove.
The tray then sits in front and across your baby to allow them to access their drinks and snacks easily. What I like about the tray though is that you an move it out 90 degrees so you can still have it slotted in place when you take your baby in and out of the pushchair which is very handy and doesn't turn into a pain if you had to move it all the time. Once I have then put my little boy back in the pushchair I can move the tray back and it's ready for him to use again.
The tray has a cup holder section which is a really good benefit in my opinion. It fits my little boys bottle as well as his drinks cups so it's a convenient place to put them. I store them in there for him and it's handy if he is not thirsty as it can just stay there until he is ready for a drink. I find he can get his bottle in and out although he does need quite a few attempts to do it sometimes.
The tray has quite. Deep section to put either food in or often times I put toys in here for him to play with and it's great because then toys do not end up being thrown out of the pushchair and possibly getting lost or they do not end up in the bottom of his footmuff where he can't reach them.
What I like about this tray is that it's really well made and definitely good quality and I think fits well into the range of optional extras that Bugaboo sell for their pushchairs. It does get quite dirty with all the drinks and food we put in it but it's made of good wipe clean material and I find baby wipes generally do a good job of cleaning it. If it gets any dirtier than that you can put it in the dishwasher but I have never done this so I can't comment on how well this works.
It comes with a two year guarantee which is good to know but like all the bugaboo products we have had so far we have never needed to replace any of those so I'm hoping we don't need to replace this either. We bought ours from John Lewis and it cost us £34.95 which I think is good value and is a product I definitely recommend.
