We brought this pushchair from tesco for £50 when my son was a year old so 2 and a half years ago. It came in a red colour and with it we received a rain cover. There was minimal assembly required clipping in the wheels and adding the hood and we were ready to go.
The stroller has 2 reclining positions so baby can sit up or lay back slightly however it only slightly reclines not fully so therefore is suitable from 6 months + not birth. This was not a problem for me as Connor was a year old and found it very comfy and often slept in it while in the lowered position. It has a 5 point safety harness to hold baby in so you know baby is very secure.
It is very very light weight perfect for travel and also folds down very easily. Once it is folded it is very small and would fit in any boot easily. It has swivel wheels making it very easy to push and suspension on the wheels making it more comfy for little one. The shopping basket is not huge but will hold a small amount enough needed for popping to local shop. It can be wiped clean easily to keep it nice and clean.
Now for my problems with the stroller.
I am only 5'7 and I am only just comfortable with the handle height so anyone taller like my partner 6'1 finds it very awkward to push. Also the first one we brought had a cracked wheel within 2 days we were a little worried about changing for another but tesco gave us a 15 5 discount as it was a display model and we had no problems with that one. It lasted 12 months and still worked very well with no problems we actually gave it to my sister in law when she went on holiday.
I would recommend this for a light weight stroller for travelling or if you are looking for a compact stroller that still has all the features of a standard stroller. It is not without it's flaws but I found it perfect for a second stroller.
I decided to move from the travel system to a pram due to space. I did like the orange colour on this pram and knew that I would be able to use it again whether I had a boy or a girl. I havn't been disappointed either. It has a lightweight frame and is easy to transport. it doesn't take up much space in the boot and is easy to carry. Also, easy to open, even with one hand. To be honest, I wish I'd had something like this from my babys first days because it would have been easier to get from A to B. You are able to adjust the seat to two positions by undoing a zip at the back of the seat, this was handy when she first started using it at 6 months, because I was able to tilt the seat back for her to go to sleep- she isn't interested in being tilted back anymore!! It's easy to steer and an all round good pram. I have found the basket underneath handy to carry her wipes, coat, toys etc. Rain cover is easy to put on. I'm glad I purchased this and would recommend it. Cost £60 (Mothercare).
My sister came to visit one morning and we decided to 'nip' out to Ikea to get a few house bits and have lunch out, thinking we wouldn't be long we didn't take a stroller for my then 18 month old. He could walk for a little while and enjoyed it but still very much relied on his afternoon nap.
We realised we were going to be longer than expected so we had to buy a stroller to make do, something cheap that would lay back slightly so my son could sleep.
We went into Toys R Us and also Mamas & Papas looking for a pushchair, in the end we decided on the Chicco CT0.6, it was £39.99 and you also got the hood and raincover with it, it has 2 recline positions and is available in a wide variety of colours. Toys R Us no longer stock this pushchair.
The colour we got was mainly turquoise but it had a sand coloured hood so was different, the handles put me off at first because they are hard plastic with a rubber based grip which is what i could only describe as corregated if that makes sense. Unbelievably though it's a delight to push, it is so lightweight but it also has amazing suspension, my usual pushchair at the time was a Maclaren Quest but I found this a lot better to push and had no difficulty in manoveuring it.
It has padded shoulder pads for extra comfort, although you can remove these. Swivel or fixed wheels and is 5.5kg, it has a carry handle when folded and is light enough for anyone to carry on their shoulder.
It does come with a stroller bag for storage but in all honesty it is a pain to use and really difficult to fit the stroller in, I never used mine. The raincover is a dream to put on, no fiddly bits, slides over and clips on by the feet, perfect.
Its easy to fold although it can be a bit stiff at first but its better that way, less chance of it becoming slack in the future and a danger to baby.
The only thing wrong with this lightweight stroller other than the useless carry bag is it is suitable from 6 months, it would've been perfect if it'd been from birth like Chicco's London stroller (more about that later!)
Dimensions of the stroller are as followed:-
Height closed: 21 cm
Length closed: 112 cm
Width open: 47 cm
Height open: 100 cm
Length open: 82 cm
I would recommend this stroller, it's the perfect accessory for any occasion, shopping (it has a basket) holidays (folds small for aeroplane) everyday use (lightweight, nice to push.)
Lightweight aluminum frame 2-position adjustable seatback Padded 5-point harness Carry bag and shoulder strap Front and rear suspension.
