We have just bought this pushchair for our 6 week old little girl. The main reason being for when we are in the car as her main pram is much too big for our boot. We bought it through mail order and it cost us £189. For that we got: The Pushchair - We bought this in the navy blue and bright yellow material with a matching bright yellow liner which makes this even more comfortable for a newborn baby than it already is! It has chunky al-terrain wheels with lots of suspension on the back wheels - this is adjustable ranging from 'soft' for babies upto 6kg - 'medium' for babies between 6 and 12kg and 'hard' for over 12kg. It also has an adjustable foot rest and a lever on the back of the frame for you to use with your foot for when your baby is quite heavy and you need to get up kerbs! *V. Handy!* The pushchair itself has 4 positions which are very easy to adjust - ranging from flat for newborn to fully sat up so this would last from 0-3/4years easily. There is also a bumper bar for the front of the pushchair which is easily removable too, complete with caps for when not in use so you dont have two holes!! For those who worry about the handle height *like I do being 5'8''* this is no problem at all they twist! thats right 8 different positions in all from 90o to 270o. I think at the highest this takes the height up to about 104cms and the lowest about 96cm but they are just estimates. Perfect for tall or short people. Once used to it *thank god for instructions!!* it is also a very easy pushchair to fold/unfold snapping into position extremely easily when opening and having a secure locking mechanism when folded. The Raincover - This is fitted into its own little pocket on the hood. The one with this particular pushchair was yellow where it fitted the hood - then pvc upto the bumper bar so baby can see out *and you can see in!* then its yellow again to the wheels - looks extremely cool!!
Theres the little air vents at the side of the pvc part and it fastens around the pram with the help of elastic and press-studs! At first I thought this would be quite difficult to fold the raincover back into its pocket as it only seemed tiny but it was really easy even first time! And its looks much tidier than the bulky raincovers I think. The Shopping Basket - This fits a lot better than others I have had, having 6 elastic fittings opposed to the usual 4, it is made high at the back and lower at the front to accomodate as much shopping as possible. Maximum weight allowed 5kg. All in all I think this pushchairs fab and so far my daughter agrees too! - I would recommend it to anyone, oh and everything washes too! :)
I recently bought a chicco trekking for my son who is 15 months old, after having a maclaren for my other child it had allot to live upto and it has.Its suspension makes it good on bumpy ground and the seat is nice and high so my child is not just looking at legs.It is very padded for comfort and is light and easy to push, although it doesnt fold up as small as the maclaren,it only just fits in my micra. I f you are thinking of buying a chicco treking try your local nursery agency shop as they get the ones classed as 'seconds' mine was as on the underside of the hood it was slightly creased, instead of being #169 it only cost 89 pounds! Well worth a look.
I have just bought this pram to use as a buggy for my 6mth old son.I already have an emmaljunger tandem pram but bought his mainly for bus and car journeys and what a great buy it was. With lots of differant features--3 position lie back ,great suspension, warm footmuff included, pull down sun canopy included etc it is a really good buy.It is also suitable from newborn to toddelers and is very sturdy and well made.I choose this for a buggy as my son has development dely and can struggle with his head support and even in the sitting up position his head is really supported. The interior is really well padded and all the plastic bits (handels to put it down etc)are not in babys reach.a great pram for a really comfortable ride.It is also really easy to push and is not really heavy to lift. The pram also is very easy to put down.I would deffinatly recomened this as a pram not just a buggy.Accesaries are available seperatly and are reasonable prices. The pram itself is around £99 and the footmuff is free(to buy that seperate is around£40)and you can get a raincoverfor just £19.99
Wanting a more rugged pushchair for bump free rides we honed in on this item from Mothercare. Bright blue in colour with splashes of green and yellow you can be sure you're seen for miles. It has rear suspension, swivel wheels, a hood which can be removed and a raincover that poppers onto the hood and rolls up into the hood when not in use. It has five positions and is suitable from birth. Quite large in size, it takes up most of the boot space in a fiesta but folds up easily and with the minimum of fuss. Handles can be rotated to find a comfortable steering position. There is a small shopping hanger underneath. The suspension can be adjusted according to the weight of the child using it [although instructions aren't very clear on how to actually do this]. There is a front opening bumper bar and good five point harness. It also comes with it's own liner but no cosy-toes [I purchased a similar Mama & Papa's one and with slight adjustments, it fitted the Chicco]. If you're looking for something rugged, suitable from birth, easy to steer and are not too worried about taking up space, then you can't go too far wrong.
